Why does no one ever point out when something is the right thing to do, but bad politics?

Senator Russ Feingold discusses his Bush censure resolution with Tim Russert

Russert implies here that a censure resolution might be bad politics.  There is one surefire way to convert bad politics into good politics: say, "Well, you know, Tim, sometimes the right thing to do is bad politics, and if we have bad political consequences here then maybe we just need to grin and bear it, because SOMEONE has to do SOMETHING."

Boom.  Instant karma.

Why does no one ever play this card?

To answer your question the most honest & straight forward way is not what the system is all about.  They duck, run, dance, beat around the Bush, hide, and even change the subject when someone puts a logical question to them.

The real honest answer to your question is that they all travel within the same circle and watch out for each other's back, so they are not going to "step on anyone's toes" within the same circle, without first confiring with that person and given an answer to give.

Don't be fooled by the system, it's a 1 party system where members put on a twp party show to keep the American people divided & to give a false sense of a choice in political decisions.  It's sad, but it's true.

that's not really what I was talking about.

I am suggesting what Feingold could have said in response to Russert's point about censure and/or impeachment not being politically expedient.

Nothing you said up there ^^ really applies to that.

Why did the Democrats stage their sleep in, when they knew it was not going to accomplish anything? Why aren't they doing something like impeaching Cheney and Bush?  If the Democrats would step up to the plate then Russ Feingold wouldn't have to explain anything to Tim Russert.

Because they know it isn't going to accomplish anything.

There is lots of disgusting behavior done by this administration, but nothing slam-dunk which even the die-hards couldn't deny is an impeachable offense -- yet.

What is needed is a lot more investigations before that's going to work.
