I think Ben is terrific, but I have to say that I don't miss him a bit when Wes Clark Jr. is taking his place. He is bright, quick on his feet and articulate. He doesn't let Cenk, god bless, walk all over him or even overshadow him. And that is no easy accomplishment.

Keep Junior as the 3rd leg of the troika. It may be difficult to fill Jill's shoes but I think he is the man for the job.

I really do miss Ben on the other hand. I think Cenk goes into unproductive rants about democrats instead of trying to be forceful but not sound crazy. I think it just hurts our position when people sound absolutely unreasonable. Granted, I'm mad as hell too that they gave in on warrentless wiretapping. But I am going to continue to lobby them to do the right thing at the end of this probationary thing. Give them the time they need to regain their footing, remember, they've been out of power in washington for quite some time, it takes some time to get your balls back. And they will never be as shitty as the republicans, nor should we wish for them to be, we just have to learn to turn the republican nonsense talking points around on them and show the american people how to watch out for these simple tricks.

My Problems with Junior! (none / 0)
Don’t get me wrong, I also love it when Wes Clark, Jr. comes on the show.  I find Junior to be very informative and offers a fresh perspective on issues, however, I’m starting to have troubles getting passed a couple comments he continues to make on the show.  

First, Junior frequently brings up how the majority of Americans are stupid. I know Americans aren’t the most informed populace in regards to politics, but I don’t think that makes them stupid.  Personally, even if someone is a hard line Republican I don’t consider them to be stupid, but rather miseducated or just plain selfish.  It’s hard to imagine, but there are people out there who don’t give a hoot a politics, don’t have the time, and some out there who actually trust their representatives and leaders to make the best political decisions.  Whether right or wrong when it comes down to it, I feel there’s hope in the American public coupled with the right tools (education, a responsible media, etc.).

Secondly, yesterday I was caught off guard by his comments in regards to the Middle East by saying we need to get out of there because “these people are animals.”  Simply stated, not kosher/_____ <---(translation of the slang use of kosher in Arabic) Junior!  Ok, I know Junior’s worked in advertising, been in the army, and seen politics up close, but let’s get some perspective and stop being haters.  Ok, I admit I can be a hater too, but when I hear someone like Junior make these comments, I can’t help but to call them out on it…

Wes, Ben and Cenk (none / 1)
Here's what I think of how the dynamic works.

Cenk and Ben are obviously awesome together.

Cenk and Wes are awesome.

Ben and Wes are also awesome.

Wes by himself seems to lose that fire that a lot of us love about when he does the show with the other guys.  I think -- actually, I'm almost sure -- it's just because Wes is comparatively new to the media game.  He's just gotta find his legs, that's all.

Very simply without Ben there isn't anyone to argue with Cenk to make the show what it is from time to time, which is to say having Cenk rail about xyz and then Ben saying well that's great that you got it all figured out but here is how Joe six pack USA see it no matter how stupid you think it is.

 

It's a great back and forth.

Ben brings a perspective to the show that would be sorely missed. His laid back style is a perfect foil for Cenk's.

Hi lacaid, I think Ben is off doing something else for a couple of weeks and Wes is just filling in while he is gone.
