What hideous thing did the Romans due to the Bulgarians?

That Britney fan was pure entertainment - anyone have the link?  Oh Ana, you just don't understand what it means to be fan….  I’m obviously joking because so many these stars are out of control, but on a serious note I think there is some in truth in acknowledging that these media sensations are real people trapped in their bodies like you and me.  Though whatever you do, don’t stop your commentary – you might burn in hell but at least your viewers will be entertained!

Speaking of hell, I sure would love a couple shots of Tequilla! Jayar - stop acting cool- we all know that you are an internet pop-culture, myspace fanatic…

Hey guys - I found the link and Chrissy Crocker sure was pissed about you talking smack about this morning and found your website completely distasteful and anti-American.  This was in reference to the above Crocker video and to the critics of the President - Leave George Bush Alone!

Wednesday's show featured resident TYT stone fox Ana Kasparian mentioning you by name.  I just saw that on the loop.

I've been on vacation but I managed to sneak away to an internet cafe to download Wednesday's show.  There's no doubt in my mind she was looking good in her holiday sweater, but I'm glad to see that she finally educated herself on the ills of Abercombrie and Fitch.  I'm way too easy with TYT women - but I give her a pass this time...

If you knew that Malkin's angry face was exactly the same as Malkin's orgasm face, would your answer be the same?

I can't believe all the Turks are goggling over this boring broad, not to mention that she's a complete whack job.  And to think that they made fun of Mindy Kaling from The Office (the Indian American).  I don't get it.

From the words of Geraldo Rivera:

"Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I've ever met in my life,"

“It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in NY. I’d spit on her if I saw her.”

Christy Harvey said that she occasionally dates Republicans because they wear nicer shoes and know how to read a wine list.

Christy, those Republicans are gay. They date women because they belong to a party that would hate them if they were openly gay. And they date liberals because they have seen the contorted face of hatred that is Michelle Malkin, and prefer women who are less judgmental.

Please, please, PLEASE!  Avoid the fate of Mrs. Larry Craig, Christy, and only date good, solid, liberal Democrats.  Like me.

This is simply idiotic. Halloween is not about panhandling. Let me parse this for you. Imagine this, on Halloween, people disguise their identity (usually these days as Spiderman, Brittney Spears or some other comic book character) and go from house to house in the neighborhood. Upon arriving at each house, the person issues the ultimatum, “trick or treat.” The not-so-implicit threat is: give us sweets or we will leave a flaming bag of poo on your front porch. So, this activity is not panhandling.  Rather, it is covert extortion. Now that, my friends, is a true NeoCon Holiday.

Is his implication that Democrats are weak and would give in to the terrorists polite? Why are they allowed to be complete and utter assholes, but we're not allowed to call them out on it?

Maybe you could enlighten us as to where you came up with this information other than regurgitating Rush Limbaugh...

  • Dems think our troops are "Nazis" http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/10/25/21313 4/43/102#102
  • Dems are starting their vicious attack on American identity, national religion, taxpayers etc, http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/10/22/11525 /191/10#10
  • Voting for Democrats are at best like voting for street bums and at worst a lot like voting for terrorists.http://www.theyo ungturks.com/comments/2007/ 10/14/155517/23/33#33
  • Dems do want to take away our guns and they do want to limit our freedom of speech http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/6/20/13312/ 0705/3#3
  • La Raza is running and directing what the dems do http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/6/14/16394/ 1135/15#15
  • The dems desire to defeat the troops in Iraq and Afganistan. They want to impeach Bush because that is another way to victory in the war against the war (or another way to defeat the U.S., whichever way you look at it.) http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/4/11/112312 /588/9#9
  • Pelosi has set a date for surrender to the terrorists in Iraq, Pelosi has set a date for surrender to the terrorists in Iraq, http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/4/11/112312 /588/2#2
  • the Terrorists and the Democrats have had a lot of success in their attempts to break the will to fight of the American people. http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/4/9/131553/ 4837/1#1

  • The Dems mato is defeat. Common sense tells us they were going to surrender to the terrorists if they took power incongress. This defeatism means implementing dates for withdrawal and defunding the our troops. http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/3/28/102731 /281/11#11

  • Dems ARE unpatriotic bafoons, and the republicans aren't. http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/2/16/13593/ 4879/2#2
  • Well if there is one thing the Dems don't do is " Caring about our country." They've been working on tearing apart the ideaof what it means to be American since way before the farewell speech of Reagan where he talked about the elimination of nationalpride and collective memory.http://www.theyoungt urks.com/comments/2007/2/17 /22318/8973/22#22
  • the Dem supported the troops by supporting their defeat in the 60s. Now they "support" the troops by supporting their defeatin the war on terror. It comes to reason that the Democrats DO NOT SUPPORT THE TROOPS.http://www.theyoungt urks.com/comments/2007/2/15 /175041/565/41#41
  • How did they manage to trick the voters into this new hope ( Obama ed.) filled bipartisan agenda when the cooks are running their party?http://www.theyoungtu rks.com/comments/2007/2/6/1 1367/49130/2#2
  • Like I said, if it wasn't for the Democrats hindering the war effort, funding, and the troops we'd have won these years ago. What we need is a much larger standing army, more media control, and fewer rules. Unfortunately Al Qaeda has learned to game our media in order to dispirit the American people and the dems just act an amplifier for their message. http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/2/2/18320/2 3155/9#9
  • CNN can play the terrorists propaganda vids along side of the dem resolution supporting the terrorists.
  • Well I do know why the dems voted for General Patraeus and his plan for a surge along with giving funding to president Bush for the troops surge yet pass resolutions opposing what they just did\approved. It's all politics. Their rabid anti-American base demands that the dems politicize the war and pretend to not support the troop http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2006/5/3/12955/5 1892/8#8
  • the CNN sniper video of troops getting shot that was filmed by the terrorists in Iraq for propaganda. They want to break the American will so they give the tapes to the libs in our lib media who have like minded goals.  http://www.theyoungturks.co m/comments/2007/1/5/19828/5 3784/2#2

...about Hillary and even more wrong about Edwards.  Einstein pointed out that you can't solve a problem with the same thinking that created the problem in the first place.  The Clinton political machine is part of the problem.  She's taking more money from military contractors than any other candidate from EITHER party.  Her husband is so desperate to get back into the Oval Office (maybe Monica is waiting for him) that he is saying all kinds of crazy shit.  NAFTA is killing everyday working people, and the Telecommunications Deregulation Act of 1996, championed by Slick Willy, is slowly strangling Democracy.

With a Democratic supermajority likely after the 08 elections, the last thing we need is Republican lite in the White House.  Say what you want about Edwards, but he's on the right side in this fight, and he's beaten big money time and time again.  While Hillary says,

"We need to move in the direction of publicly financed campaigns."

John Edwards will work with the Democratic Congress to make it HAPPEN.  Tell me Wes, what exactly does "move in the direction" mean???

It's increasingly apparent that the Democratic establishment in DC is scared of what Edwards might do to their insulated, wealthy bubble.  He'd pop it, that's what he'd do, and I for one am all for it.

It looks to me like Wes is more worried about protecting the establishment than effecting real change.  Why on earth would he want someone who can WORK with Republicans.  Like the Germans at the turn of the 20th century, the Republican party needs a very stern whipping so that they stop their shenanigans once and for all. A vote for Hillary is a vote for more of the same.

Someone had to come out and say it. Religious people have been using fairy tales to justify anything and everything their hateful, selfish, animalistic asses want to get away with.

You know the difference between a cult and a religion? Its the number of followers it has. Get enough people to believe in your invisible deities and reasons for torturing, maiming, and killing people and all of the sudden taken seriously when you start spouting utter nonsense.

I agree dprokott, Cenk did a wonderful job.

that people want to believe SO badly, it totally trumps logic and reason.

And that's *after* you get past the fact that most people have religion pounded into their heads during childhood.

When you ask people why they believe they often say "because there HAS to be something more than this".  Is it just me, or is that not a reason one *should* believe, but rather, it's a reason why one would *want* to believe.

The best part is when some horrible tragedy happens and people kiss God's ass because he spared them their lives.  Like when a natural diaster kills a few hundred people and some fool praises God for the fucked up shit he technically *could* have done but didn't.

It's insane, totally insane.

Someone gets in a horrible accident and can never walk again so they praise God for still being alive.  Huh?  It's like if some madman kidnapped me and sawed off my legs, sewed me up and then set me free and I go on to send him a Thank You(!) card because after all, he spared my life so I should be grateful.

The more I think about it, the most disgusted I get.

This guy (or entity or whatever...everyone says "He" as if God has a giant cock and balls) must be one of three things:

1. neutral/indifferent about human life

2. A sadist

3. Insane with a very warped view of suffering and kindness

I go with option 1 and allow for the idea that *if* "It" exists, it doesn't necessarily care either way.

Something about Jenna's face a) reminds me too much of her father, ::shudder:: b) just looks too dumb in general.

However, way hotter than any of them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik i/Lauren_Bush

You are separating the fact that "more guys just absolutely will not do (gay) stuff under any circumstances" from how socially acceptable it is, and that's just crap.  The reason there is a higher percentage of men who just "wouldn't do it no matter what" IS because of how socially acceptable it is.  You want proof?  Look at the ancient Greeks.  It WAS acceptable, and more people did it.  They weren't just all homosexuals; it was too many people for that.  The things that are socially acceptable play a huge role in what people are willing to do.

Also, since I came out as a gay man, I have had MANY of my girlfirends tell me that they actually ARE turned on by two guys together.  I am sure that--as you say--more GUYS are turned on by women together than the opposite.  But do you really think it's BIOLOGICAL?  Again, do you think that a huge factor isn't how socially acceptable guys making out is?

You can test this out pretty easily.  Next time you meet a chick, mention conversationally that you saw a web video of Brad Pitt and Colin Farrell making out.  Half of them will say they think it's gross.  But half of them will ask you for the link.

by TooFolkGR on 01/09/2008 09:02:01 AM EST

Almost all of the authors of slashfic are women.

There are huge contingents of women out there who get incredibly hot and bothered when they think about Colin/Brad or Elijah/Orlando or any number of other incredibly unlikely pairings, and will write pages upon pages about it.

I think it's because it takes men who are examples of success and alpha-male-ness and portrays them as incredibly sensitive, caring guys... who just happen to want to do each other.  It's like the best of both worlds for these ladies.

by jarett on 01/09/2008 03:47:34 PM EST

[ Parent ]
you lost me with the example at the end.

There is NO WAY that *half* of women asked would say they'd be turned on by watching two hot guys make out.

No way.  Even if you want to argue that they'd be turned on but couldn't admit it, I'd still say 50% is way too high.

by ihavenobias on 01/09/2008 08:33:14 PM EST

But however high it is, it's higher than Cenk thinks, and probably higher than you think.  Like I said about half my girlfriends confessed to me they thought it was kind of hot when they found out I was gay.  None of my girlfriends are uptight baptist chicks of course and maybe the whole reason we ended up friends was they figured out I was gay before I figured it out myself?

Look, I know I am going to be hated for this but I would definitely get freaky with a racist and I am not white.  In fact I have hooked up with racist.  This of course excludes the psychologically imbalanced racist organization joining types.  A group ie. white, black, hispanic etc. is nothing more than a concept in peoples minds; its not real; its a figment of the imagination.  When ever I have encountered a racist female in my midst they end up liking me as individual because I do not replicate the fictional movie they have in their head.  They eventually are overcome by my personality, compassion, intelligence and shear manhood. LOL  And yes, I would, could, and have knocked the bottom out of a racist.  One of the benefits of hooking up with a racist is you never have to meet their parents and they don't want to go out in public a lot.  Consequently, you don't have to spend a lot of money and waste a lot of time.  Most racist are not that bad.  No kidding some of my best friends were former racists.  In fact they still might be racists toward the concept of a "group."  I actually get a little tickled at seeing the cognative dissonance caused by the fact that I shattered their paradigm.  One of the finest women I ever dated was a racist biker chick.  Her ex was in jail when I met her.  Man she really fell for me.  Even though I moved to another part of the country we still communicate after 6 years.  Its interesting watching them struggle with their conflicted motions over time.

In regards to going out with racists, in the last couple years I’ve dated a couple girls with some surprises.  The first was a younger Jewish/white girl who couldn’t stand Russians because she said they littered all the time.  When she first told me this, I started busting up because in no way did I think she was being serious.  Then one day we came across someone who littered out their car window and down went the “dirty” Russians.  The second lady was Chinese American and boy did she have a thing for Chinese people or FOB’s (Fresh Off the Boat) as she would put it.  Like the Russian hater, this got old real fast especially when we went out to dinner at Asian restaurants in my neighborhood.  I got so sick of hearing how these "FOBs" were giving her dirty looks I almost walked out on her in the middle dinner.  I don’t know if people being racist against their own people is any better than typical racists, but either way I can’t stand being around that crap.  Sometimes I have the illusion that I can change people, but in the end I'm usually left disappointed

All the Russians I know who are at least second-generation American HATE first-generationers.

My friend practically spits with hatred about how they're all "animals" and "beasts" and terrible people and etc. etc.

Others are convinced they're all members of the Russian mafia.

That Russian-on-Russian hate is pretty common, at least in NYC.

Cenk,
The check involved in the Siegelman case was not paid to a charity. It was a donation to pay down the debt of a fund that had been used to campaign for a lottery in Alabama. A private group that had been formed to push for a state lottery had debts to pay off.

You are exactly right that Siegelman did not get any of this money. But it was not for a charity.
