Hi Folks

I just signed up as a freebie member, which gives me no license whatever, but what the heck.

After I set up my preferences with minimal input, I noticed I had bothered to specify two persons -- a favorite politician, and a sexiest performer -- and that they are both black. I hadn't even thought about it. I'm a white guy born in West Virginia.

I think getting beyond race and differences in this sort of matter-of-fact way is worth mentioning a bit until it hits critical mass. It's a new consciousness that gives more than an extra lift to progressive politics. It's human progress in its most fundamental form.

An unthinking lack of racism is a Good Thing, as Martha Stewart might say -- but it requires more than that to really extinguish racism in America.

"duck" all the time?  Sorry, that was a "fowl" joke!  But did it "quack" you up?
Don, I agree, we need to touch that third rail of race in America far more often.  People blind themselves to the fact that racism is at the root of most major problems in our society.
As long as otherwise decent people can hear about a police brutality incident and say, "Well, he was probably guilty of something." we've got a long way to go.
So, how'd you find The Young Turks?  And, more importantly, have you seen The Jung Jurks?
