While miner's lives are being put in danger, Murray just makes nonsense comments and the press doesn't report on all the safety regulations he's broken.

It seems to me to be abundantly clear that Murray is lying because there is a VERY good chance that he goes to prison over this not to mention the civil law suits from the mine worker's families and now rescue worker's families.  The info about the retreat mining and from the USGS was available from the very beginning and has been cited in print but only given short shrift on TV where the public relations "face" of the tragedy has been Murray and his self-serving rhetoric.  I don't doubt that he does feel pain for the loss of the miners now, but he should have thought about that before his greed over shadowed his concern for his employee's safety.
