Iran not the only country supplying insurgents

190,000 ak-47 in the hands of??????

$19.2 billion  spent on training and 190,000 missing weapons.

One senior Pentagon official acknowledged that some of the weapons probably are being used against U.S. forces. He cited the Iraqi brigade created at Fallujah that quickly dissolved in September 2004 and turned its weapons against the Americans.

Stohl said insurgents frequently use small-arms fire to force military convoys to move in a particular direction -- often toward roadside bombs. She noted that the Bush administration frequently complains that Iran and Syria are supplying insurgents but has paid little attention to whether U.S. military errors inadvertently play a role. "We know there is seepage and very little is being done to address the problem," she said.

I have nothing to add to this I think the story speaks for itself.

Let the spin begin!!!!!!!

I saw that on the news a while back. So they got the guns and the billions of dollars that have come up missing. Bush is supplying them better than he did our own troops.

The "selling" of a war with Iran is well on it's way. The "usual suspects" in the media (that is, 99% - right, left, middle) are dutifully spoon-feeding us the lies the government wants us to hear. And I say "the government" because it is a completely bi-partisan effort.

Why doesn't anyone ever question the sole focus on Iran (with the occasional "and Syria" tossed in)? Factions - I won't say government sponsored; arms sellers are usually too greedy to cut them in on the deal, but there is no doubt of governmental awareness - in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, and - shock!- Israel have ALL been supplying weapons and material support to their favored groups in Iraq. Yet the only "threat of destabilization" comes from Iran? Gimme a friggin' break.

How many times are we going to buy the same bridge?

For all intents, there currently is NO government in Iraq - just a few very confused people with Titles. Now, think back a year, when the comments about the "need to replace" Al-Malaki first started rearing their ugly heads. Did anyone object? Wouldn't that have been a great time for the "reporter" listening to this to say, "Wait a minute. You are advocating the overthrow of a government we JUST put in place! IS Iraq a sovereign nation or not?" I guess it's easier to invade a country if you're still there from the last invasion...

Remember...Petraeus was in charge of those "disappeared" weapons and they're distribution, as well as the training of Iraqi Army prospects and police forces. You know, teach them how to "stand up" so we could "stand down." Well, ya did a heckuva job, Brownie...

Tell me again how he got promoted? Why did this figure of obvious incompetence, already known to favor increasing the number of troops, fly through confirmation so easily? Another great bi-partisan effort to make sure the troops stay right where they are.

Get the U.S. out and let them sort it out without our interference. It's the only way any LASTING accord can be reached. As long as one side or the other is convinced the other is a U.S. puppet, the only "progress" you'll see is the progressive body count. We HAVE to get out of the way.

And just recently Bush was spewing the same old fear and smear.  Smear the Democrats as troop haters, ramp up the fear, Al Qaeda will take over the world if we don't stay in Iraq. I think he mentioned the word Al Qaeda 70 times in his latest speech. The usual suspects are making the rounds telling us how scared we should be if the troops leave Iraq, how diplomacy just wont work on the wild eyed brown people. Wolf Blitzer asking the hard hitting questions that need to be asked such as  how does Hillary's cleavage affect the race.

ALL talk about Iran's involvement is pure spin!

The Saudi's are just as big a problem if not worse!

By far the largest number of foreign fighters come from...that's right Saudi Arabia!  A whooping 45%, and most of them as suicide bombers!

So what are we doing about this problem you ask?  Talking tough?  Threatening sanctions?  Forming a threatening posture in the gulf?  Nope, how about we sell them $20 Billion dollars worth of advanced weaponry?  Sounds like a good idea to me!
