I Sure Hope Ben is Getting a Lot of Money

I'm a huge fan of this show.  The back and forth between Cenk and Ben drew me in just over a year ago and I've been an avid listener ever since.  I even appreciate Cenk when he flies solo now, though it's unfortunate there isn't anybody around to bring him a little bit closer to the earth when he goes a little crazy.

But this TMZ thing...

I had never even heard of TMZ until I heard about Ben's new job.  I want to preface this by saying he can work wherever he wants, and he's gotta look out for number one.  I hope he really loves his job and wish him all the success in the world.

From a purely subjective, personal point of view though?  The TMZ website and show are just about the most awful thing I've ever seen.  It saddens me to see someone who used to speak so passionately about what we can do to make America better contributing (however adeptly) to the celebrity-scandal obsession that is a tumor on our whole society.

I really wish him all the success in the world and I'm not judging him since I have no right to in the first place.  But everything about TMZ is a huge turnoff.  There are so many more important things in the world and... on the whole... I think our celebrity obsession and those that feed off of it are a negative.  It is unfortunate for the progressive movement that there isn't more money in it.

Screw TMZ!  Despite my love/hate relationship for trash-celebrity culture I still refuse to watch that show even if it's on everyday.

When has it become ok for someone to do something JUST for money!  If everyone lived by the way of the dollar, where would our country be today?   Wha t a load of horse crap - a big, fat, stinky pile shaped as a B!

It's always ok to go for the money when there are bills to pay. What we don't know is what Ben was making at TYT. I'm not a money-grubber, either ... trust me ... i'm an elementary school teacher. :)

I miss and will continue to miss Ben, but i absolutely will NOT watch TMZ tv or their website. I could not care less about celebrity culture or any of its horrid offspring. Sorry, Ben.

I hope everything works out for Ben, but i'm psyched up for Sam Seder guest-hosting tomorrow with Cenk! Now there's a possible replacement! Here's to the new dynamic duo of TYT! Cheers, people.

Super stoked to hear the news!  Whoever's behind tomorrow's show is a genius.  Sam needs to be back on the airwaves everyday and someone should definitely post a blog dedicated to this show....

If you haven't checked Seder's site, it's great but has nothing on TYT:

While you're at it, why not book Maron and Garofalo for some guest appearances!!!!

I hope Ben gets to cover nothing but a year of OJ with an occasional break to cover Britney's escapades.

Christie Harvey would make an excellent co-host. She's brilliant and has the best laugh on radio.

I'm looking forward to Sam, though. Lionel sucks. What a pitiful replacement for Sammy.

I'm there!

What a powerhouse combination.

I was in Texas Stadium the first time Tony Dorsett and Herschel Walker lined up in the same backfield.

This is going to be even better.

Gotta let Ben do what he's got to do. I repeat my previous post: Ben, go make some money and get your ass back here. Brittney Spears' underpants ain't news, nor are they important. I can enjoy a little schadenfreude the same as the next guy, but spending the amount of time this country spends on celebutards is just another way of dumbing down. My favorite show on the tv is, of course, Keith Olbermann. But when he gets into the celebrity stuff I'm gone.
