Right where the plutocracy wants them to lead.  Sorry to have to be the one to inform you, but we live in a Fascism-lite nation  that controls both parties through a two-party dictatorship run by a plutocracy that uses the two parties as a shell game to keep the voters confused.

The Republican Party does not live up the the Republican PR about small government, no foreign regime change, free trade, etc, any more than the Democrats live up to their PR. The two parties use their PR organs to divide up the voters and then the leadership of the two parties vote to keep the plutocrats in power and only differ on minor tactics of how to do that. 

For example, the question "should we drill in ANWAR or not?" is  minor tactic to the people who own America.  The Republicans say "sure we should drill and get profit everywhere we can." The Democrats say "if you drill in certain places then the people will grumble and maybe become too socialist and nationalize the oil industry so you have to give them some environmental protections to keep them pacified." That becomes the big shell game that keeps the voters occupied and too confused to see who is making the real decisions. 

For another example, the Democratic Leadership always has been in favor of the War in Iraq and still is, but because the grass roots are not, the Leadership had to shift its PR statements to oppose the war. But the Democratic leadership doesn't want to end the war. They want to "win" as much as Bush does, so they argue over strategy, such as the bogus Biden-Brownback-Boxer amendment, rather than just shutting down the government until the troops are withdrawn.

Now the attack on Iran becomes the way that Democrats can distract from their refusal to stop the Iraq war. Now the Democrats can say we approve of the war on Iran even though we were lied to by Bush on Iraq. Of course they are being lied to on Iran also, but that doesn't matter in the long run. Why. Because the voters live in the United States of Amnesia.  Goering, Hitler, and Bush knew all about this. It's as easy as A,B, C:

You couldn't have said it any better.  These so called "Dems & Rebubs" are playing out the same game to keep the war(s) going while their pockets pockets continue to get deeper.  Through B/S rhetoric & diversions, they continue to keep the voters divided, while they funnel billions of dollars from the taxpayers by funding phoney contracts in Iraq, Afghanistan, that are going into offshore accounts. 

 
They also manipulate the oil market by controlling the flow that does or does not come out of Iraq, thus driving the price of oil up %300 since 2001.  The government that's in office now is all about....money.  You don't have a 2 party system anymore, you have a 1 party system putting on a 2 party show for the people to keep them divided.

Think about this for instance;  If they really wanted to end the war in Iraq in a timely manner, then why did they only send 30K more troops?  Why not send 200k more to expedite the progress instead of dragging this out? 

They say over & over again that we can't pull out of Iraq now because all hell would break loose and the enemy would follow us home.  Well how could they follow us home & get into the country, if yet we're suppose to have this great "Homeland Security" program in place they created?  Oh yeah! That's right!  That's another one of those illusionistic programs they created, where $100's of billions of taxpayers dollars are going towards, where they have an amendment that says they don't have to show any accountability of where the funds are being funneled  to.....opps....I meant spent due to national security reasons.

If they really wanted to stop the war, they could checkmate Bush in three ways. (1) They could shut down the government by refusing to fund it for the upcoming year, (2) Only fund the war in increments when benchmarks are met, (3) Over fund the war to increase the size of the military presence by 200K to bring the war to an end sooner, thus bringing the war to an end & have all forces out within the next 12 months.

If Bush would not agree to any of those terms, then it could be brought into the eyes of the American people across the country through the media, how Bush is not supporting the military's efforts and how he & his war contracting firends are not he is not trying to bring this war to an end & create stability in the region.

Game....Set...Match.....End Of Story
