A brief note on Touchdown Jesus

So about this roast thing...

"Touchdown Jesus" is the informal nickname for an enormous mural on the south face of the Hesburgh Library.  It's called this because Jesus is raising his arms in it over a number of scenes and people from the Bible.

Also, there is a cutout in the north face of Notre Dame stadium so that Jesus' face can be seen from the field (and, theoretically, beneficently look down on all of us as we cheer and play).

He's an icon on campus, no doubt, but it's not that big a deal.

And now you know... the rest... of the story.

Doesn't the campus also have some sort of Moses statue, like Football Moses or something like that?

First Down Moses is on the west side of the library.  Technically he's pointing up to the sky, indicating that God is the source of the Law, but yeah.  We can think of a football metaphor for anything up in this piece.
