The Media and Obama

Now I see

The right wing media is starting to figure things out, or at least I'm starting to figure out what's going on this year.  The Republicans know they only have a chance in a McCain vs. Clinton matchup.  So they are working very very hard to discredit Obama at every turn.  If Obama comes out of the primaries he could win 60% and that would be bad news for the Republican Party.

So the Republican strategy is pretty clear now.  They want to do everything they can to push the Dem nomination over to Clinton.  The mainstream and right-wing media are doing everything they can to pit certain groups against Obama, including whites, older people, and hispanics.   Now that their own nomination is shaking out, they can turn their entire attention on discrediting Obama.

What an unlikely marriage--the Clintons and the right-wing media.  It may only be for a few weeks, but it could be effective in getting McCain elected.  The right-wing media doesn't get a lot of traction among Democrats, but the news stories in the mainstream media are clearly favoring Clinton and can influence the less aware voters.

So the Obama non-believers out there need to understand what's going on here.  We need to get behind our candidate, not the one the Republicans would prefer to run against.  I hope Edwards decides to drop out soon so the Super Tuesday voters get to have a say in who we really want in there.

Clinton backers would say that about their candidate?

Is anyone honestly gonna vote for a Republican after  years of Bush? Is it still 50/50 in this nation in a crap economy and uncertain future?

I hope Edwards drops now and throws to Obama. Hillary is rightfully or wrongly a Bitch and she will bring every redneck, hillbilly and right winger in the old folks homes out to vote. And if McCain wins... well just read Ken TX's post earlier to see my views on him!

The undecideds are not trending towards Republicans so far thats for sure. The country let out a huge sigh of relief after Bush gave his final state of the union speech. It seems like the majority of America just want it over.

Finally someone other than me says that Edwards should get out.  Obama would have almost won florida (as useless as that is) with the extra Edwards votes.

Obama would have almost won florida (as useless as that is) with the extra Edwards votes.

The polls I've seen show 4 in 10 Edwards supporters are leaning towards Hillary while only 25% are supporting the Chosen One.

Four in 10 Edwards supporters said their second choice in the race is Clinton, while a quarter prefer Obama, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo poll conducted late this month. I'm not sure but only Republican funny math can turn that into a victory.

I always use Republican math when it suits my interests.  Actually, I was operating under the assumption that most of Edwards supporters would go for Obama, you know, because it makes sense.  But the media today has since taught me that the old adage about assuming is correct.  It does indeed make an ass out of you and me (but mostly just me, I never really got that first part).  But you're right.

You need to look at the demographics of who voted for who. While Obama carried the black vote Hilary and Edwards spit the white vote and even if Obama and Hilary split the Edwards vote (which is the most likely scenario) Hilary still blows him out.

I realize I used the term blows, Clinton oral sex joke in 10, 9, 8.............

My sister-in-law lives in Greenville, SC. She's an Edwards supporter, so are most of the people she knows, but they decided to vote for Obama because they all can't stand Hillary. Sending Bill to SC helped them make their decisions. FWIW, Greenville is 70% white as are they, although they voted for Obama.

Edwards won't say it out loud while campaigning, but he knows he can't win. He is leading the dialog, introducing the platform, and he probably won't drop out. As long as he can keep getting over 15%, he'll stay in. He's directed a lot more barbs at Hillary than Obama.

It's the Clintons that need to go, for the good of the party and the country, but they're so power hungry they'd destroy the country just to get back into the White House. So the Clintons will let corporate America keep control of the reins.

Besides there's even more dirt on McCain.
