Iowa Repubs To Choose Their Favorite Fearmonger

Yes, this article is hilarious (and true).

I just saw this great article on Huffington Post titled Iowa Republicans To Choose Their Favorite Fearmonger

It's concise (read:short and easy to read) and well worth a few minutes.  I especially liked this:

"...You can choose Mike Huckabee, who said to Tim Russert on Sunday:

"But remember that [the president's] most single -- critical job is that of preserving and protecting the American people."
Huckabee is clearly referring to the Presidential Oath of Office here. Of course he totally misquoted the thing with phrasing that awkwardly reminded me of "putting food on your family." The oath says nothing about protecting and preserving the people, but rather:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
The Constitution, it says. The president swears (or affirms) to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. Not the people. Huckabee's stated goal, rather, is to preserve the people first and worry about the Constitution later because the evildoers will kill us otherwise..."

For the rest, click the link I provided above.

Where are all the threads about the Democrat results in Iowa? They're certainly talking about this subject over at DemocratUndergroundHogs. Some people are not happy.

I've noticed some in the far left hate that Iowa chooses because it's all a butch of old white farmers.

Which of course, makes the Obama victory all the more stunning.

Bob Cesca.  Quite the blogger, indeed.  My favorite on HuffPo that's not Cenk.  He knows how to give em the business.

I'm tickled that you called them Repubs.

I've heard people misquote the presidential oath of office too many times, almost always for devious purposes.  I always worry when people quote bits of any US historical document as if they were scripture.

Hmm, seems like Ken 'My Party Can Do No Wrong" TX could stand to learn something from you.

Ken "Democrats are stupid" Tx  made a sure fire prediction that Fred Thompson was going to come in and 'crush'  the liberal traitors in the elections. Because of that, I found it particularly satisfying reading that Fred Thompson plans on dropping out of the race right after Iowa.

I was just talking about that on another forum. He's polling LOW in NH, but Paul is going to cut his knees out from under him in Iowa so he takes fourth.

If he got 3rd he could get his stuff together, but he's going to hit a Ron Paul roadblock.

The conservatives are so worried about Huck, that they are abandoning Fred as the expense. Meanwhile Romney is a faker and has no chance in the long-run so he's a wasted vote.

I believe you have me confused with BB.

I'm a Mitt Romney guy.

My only experience with Fred Thompson was voting for him when I lived in Tennessee.

Thank you.

Have a nice day.

I kept predicting that Al Gore would win the nomination.

Al Gore and Fred Thompson were both Senators from Tennessee. That's the source of your confusion.

By the way, feel free to find a post where I predicted that Fred Thompson would win the nomination.

Sarcasm is language used to convey insults or scorn; such as "irony is wasted on the stupid"

Its as good a definition as any.

Suck
Swallow
If you cant figure that out
