LOVING TODAY'S SHOW AND I JUST WANT TYT TO KNOW!

So why can't I?  The show is over.  I go to videos and click on today's show and it isn't there yet.  And it won't be for hours (if past days have been any indication).  Can someone tell me what the problem is?  It seems easy enough to post the video immediately.  Back in the Air America days, you could see the show continuously once it was over.  I don't want to hear it TOMORROW.

there's a lot of post-processing that needs to happen to raw footage before it's suitable for download.  I'm not entirely sure you can do much of that at faster-than-real-time, so that means for a 1.5 hour chunk of content it's going to take at least 1.5 hours afterwards to process it, and the gang is also working the magic to keep the RPG wheels turning.  I think they've been shooting for having the main show up by around 6:30PM Eastern, and for the most part I seem to recall them getting it pretty close.  They look to be running late tonight, but shit happens.

So that might be why it takes some time to get the video up.

There are only so many people there to do the work, and I bet it's a hassle trying to post-process one file while running the boards to get ready to capture more stuff on the fly.

I defer all complainers to ihavenobias' superb restaurant analogy.

A.  I'm a paying member.  (hope you are too)
B.  I DID contact them first.  Haven't heard back.

But besides that, I'm not against anyone complaining about ANYTHING that bothers them in WHATEVER forum they choose.  It was actually a horrible analogy.  I don't work for TYT.  I'm not "going over" a co-workers head.

Frankly, rather than worrying about TYT's delicate feelings, let's think - are THESE the type of people who mind a robust conversation on ANY topic?  I really don't think so.

So, back to the original response to my comment - why was it that during AA days, the entire show was immediately running when the live show ended?  Why didn't it take them time to prepare it?

The restaurant analogy further down the page (I should have singled it out, whoops).

But it's not a big deal.  I don't know if it's the commercial thing.  I was just floating it out there.

I am a paying member by the way.

I'm not against complaining.  Complain away.  I'm especially okay with it under the forum post titled "Today's Show ROCKED", rather than having a post titled "THIS SHOW SUCKS" on the front page.  That's the only thing that irks me a little.

While I still disagree with you on "it's better to make a comment like mine here than starting a new thread" I will say that I probably would not do that.  I think I'd have to be extremely frustrated and getting NO response from them.  That said, I'd never call the thread "this show sucked", because I've never heard one that did!  And, as I'm sure you realize, that's not in any way what my complaint is about.

I heard Cenk say Dave was at the Dentist right after the RPG show started. By the time he got back (figuring it takes three hours to do ANYTHING in L.A.), the debate was starting.

This is not a defense, merely a guess at events. I've also noticed some server issues the past couple of days, and that is sure to push some things back.

Dave is incredibly dedicated to keeping the fan side running as smooth as possible. I have no doubt that he is doing stuff above and beyond the call that we will never be aware of.

I know you meant no disrespect. It's very frustrating for me when the Post Office changes my mail carrier and I have to learn their timetable in order to know when to expect my mail, and they never tell me ahead of time. I get used to things being a certain way. Something as little as a "head's up" is appreciated, right?

I miss the hominid picture floating by on my screen in between segments...

I totally forgot Dave was at the dentist.  That may very well  have been the problem.

You're doing great!

(I like the post-game show, I just keep my browser open all day while I'm at work. It's nice when you guys come back on. Like a surprise.)

It's always a great show when Wes Clark guest hosts.  If only he can get his Dad to support Obama.
