ABC Sports was "the world leader in sports coverage" once. It was true. Wide World of Sports and creation of Monday Night Football from scratch. Then they were outbid for everything (starting with the Olympics going to NBC). But Murdock bought credibility for his entire network operation by bidding on that stuff, beginning with the NFL. Now the CBS announcer mentions that the other playoff game next Saturday will be on Fox. (I noticed that yesterday, which brought this to mind). Murdock is willing to pour money into stuff like Fox Business because it has worked before. If it doesn't work this time, try something else. He'll keep it up because that is what he does.
