Hats off to LSU, the SEC

I bow in submission to the superiority of the SEC.  LSU is clearly the #1 in the team in the country.  Ken, let me know the next time you're in the southwest, I owe you a pitcher of beer.

By the way Bennie Wells for Heisman 2008

Anything that humbles "The" Ohio State University.

I don't blame THE Ohio State University for these blow-outs. I blame the BCS.

Ohio State will make it a threepeat in 2009. They will be back in the National Championship, guaranteed. They will probably be undefeated because their schedule is so weak.

Then, they will run into another football team that got to the National Championship by playing a very tough schedule and beating many good teams. Then OSU will get their asses handed to them once again. Three in a row.

The NCAA must start a playoff system to save the integrity of college football. This nonsense is a travesty.

The word "Buckeye" is becoming synonymous with the term "overrated loser".

I think you were right, originally -- most of the teams who would make it to the end stages of a playoff season would be SEC right now.  But:

a) The Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta Bowls would still exist
b) All this would do is force teams in the other conferences have to work harder and bring themselves up to the level of competition you see in the South.  Make no mistake, if you had this kind of system in place, we WOULD see more inter-conference play, and I think the quality of college football all over the country would increase.

The Buckeyes  play USC next year so I guess you can call their schedule week since they are just another set of "Overrated Losers"

By the way did anyone see Bennies stiff arm of the LSU cornerback in the 2nd quarter?  Speed kills, but power is fun to watch.

Anyway like the rest of the big 10 in their bowl games the Buckeyes made far too many mistakes to win the game 3 turnovers (2 on terrible passes by Boeckman) plus basically another one on a stipid penalty along with about 4-5 other stupid penalties.

Anyway i'm starting to come around to a playoff system, but only if it means that an SEC team has to play in the Shoe in December/January.  The power game of the big ten works great when it's 32 degress and windy but not quite as well in a dome on turf.

stands for "Buckeye Cornation System".

I'm not mad at the Bucks, but I am mad at the BCS.

Mookie, look at it like this. If there is a playoff system, OSU will make the playoffs every year for the next 100 years. How you guys perform after you get into the playoffs is entirely up to your ability and desire.

Who knows, it might be possible for OSU to play in another National Championship once or twice in 100 years?

Florida's looking pretty good for next year -- and the year after that.  They've got two more years of offensive leadership under Tim Tebow to look forward to.  If Meyer is smart, that offense will sharpen to a razor's edge by the time that kid is a senior.
