What do Young Turks think about Hillary?

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
Well boys and girls, it looks like Hillary will ultimately win the Democrat Party nomination. Let’s conduct a quick poll of Young Turks forum participants to find out what everybody thinks about our new presidential candidate.

Leeberal: “Hillary is just out of the question for me.”

zenie: “I don’t like Hillary.”

Jarett: “Anyone but Hillary.”

Iowa Greg
: “Hillary has no chance to get elected President.”

Das Gimp: “I don’t like Hillary at all. We might as well elect a Republican.”

MRFred: "If Hillary gets the nomination, I'm not sure how I would vote."

MRFred: "If you must know, I voted for McCain." I guess now we know how he will vote.

schmoab:  “A Hillary nomination is like handing the election to the Republicans on a silver platter.”

ihavenobias:
“I’ll be happy with anyone but Hillary.

mathcore:
“I might as well vote for a Republican.”

mookie:
“I just don't see any way that Hillary becomes our next president.”

gdoud: "I can't stand Hillary."

spinny: "Hillary getting the nom would have me begging for a palatable third party run so I wouldn't feel tempted to vote for the Dark Side."

Hue:
“Liberals don’t like Hillary.”

Prezalex: “She’s the worst, easily.”

army193: "Want more [Clintons]? Not on my watch!"

dhultz: "I will be sick to my stomach every day watching [Hillary] so uncharmingly trianglulate with that voice from Mars Attacks."

Iyouwe: "Hillary Clinton is beyond repair."

bobo1: "The reason many libs wont vote for Hillary Clinton is not because of that single Iraq vote, but the 35 years of trickery, coniving, two faced politics that her and her other half have practiced."

sunsawed:
Absolutely hates Hillary’s guts.

How does it look like she's going to win the nomination?  Because she picked up one state with a much smaller margin than expected?

If it's all about early wins than I guess you should tell us how you feel about Huckabee/McCain 08?

"Well boys and girls, it looks like Hillary will ultimately win the Democrat Party nomination."

No, it doesn't.

Chickens, hatched, etc.

I hope you are right and I am wrong.

Well, go ahead and get out the knives, folks, cuz I, for one wouldn't really mind at all.  I like Obama fine, and would be thrilled to see him nominated, but Hillary's shown herself to be pretty goddam tough.

"Might as well vote for a republican?!"  If that wasn't a joke then it was just plain fkn stupid.  I remember too well and TOO painfully all those Nader voters who told us over & over "there's no difference between Bush and Gore."  How's that workin' out for ya?

Don't get me wrong, I have my problems w/her too, but right now it looks like she or Obama will be the nominee, so watcha gonna do, split the vote and hand it to those fkrs?  No thanx

But I'm forced to vote for Hillary it will be without any enthusiasm whatsoever.  It would be a begruding obligation, like cleaning out gutters or unclogging a toilet.  I can't *not* do it but don't expect to see a smile on my face with each plunge (although I'll feel slightly more satisfied to see that republicans ultimately end up in the sewer).

The only thing tough WRT to her is how hard it is for me to swallow her victory tonight.  I hope it's very short lived.

And I'm heartened by the fact that most progressives feel the same way about Hillary (overwhelmingly based on what I heart on the talk shows and read about on the blogs and various websites).  But I'm disheartened that the public at large (who is much less well informed about politics in general) doesn't realize what Hillary is and is not.

I, like most progressives out there, want to believe in Barack Obama.  But he had better get tough and rethink this  "we need to work together to reach common ground w/ the GOP" shit.  Sounds nice, but there is no common ground with those loathesome, vile cretins.  One good slip up or skeleton in the closet and Mr  Nice Guy could get his ass handed to him.

Guess I'm Just gunshy, that's all.

I'm way too tired to make a whole new post out of this, but I think it deserves one.

Someone needs to take this link and make a threat to break down just what Obama wants to do using the info he provides to that end.

and I dont like her that much. As the economy tanks one thing is for sure the next president wont be a Republican.

For all parctical puposes the race is tied between Clinton and Obama. If any thing NH only postpones her coronation or demonization until Super Tuesday.

So...you can save your "I hate Hillary so I wont vote" campaign for a more receptive audience...like the Ron Paul crowd.

One more thing, from a previous post...

I though Bush and Republicans were for free trade? Why would a major Republican corporate tax cut package ( The so called American Jobs Act) contain a tariff on imported fishing tackle?

Did you know that Plano Corp is a major employer (and oddly enough a manufacturer of fishing tackle) is in Dennis Hastert's ( then Speaker of the House) District ?

Could you help me out with that?

by MRFred on 01/09/2008 08:41:23 AM EST

I'm not in favor of tariffs. I am in favor of tax cuts for manufacturing companies. Hillary Clinton's nomination will probably drive many Democrats to vote for Ron Paul's 3rd party. The feelings about Hillary in this forum are a great indicator.

Republicans = protective tariffs for special interest groups.

KenTX= Republican

Therefore,

KenTX = protective tariffs for special interest groups.

Works both ways my friend.

...and I have been at every step of the way.  I am not a Hillary supporter but would work for her just as hard as I would for any other Democrat we could reasonably nominate.  She's a brilliant politician and I agree with her on just about every conceivable issue.  Just like Obama and Edwards.

by TooFolkGR on 01/09/2008 09:13:33 AM EST

She's not the best candidate. She may be the worst of the Democratic candidates. That makes her light-years ahead of the Republicans in every way. She's still much too conservative. The Democratic Leadership Council that her husband started, and that she supports, has been a big downer for Democrats and for the country. Its anti-progressive, corporate message is not what we need in 2008, or at any time in the 21st century.

I definitely won't vote for her in the primary election, but since my state still has Diebold machines, I don't know if my vote for Edwards will count.

If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic candidate in the national election I'll be thrilled to vote for her then.

by zenie on 01/09/2008 12:34:37 PM EST

do I need to say more???

by rev24 on 01/09/2008 12:36:39 PM EST

Let Congress become more majority-Democratic, but let the presidency go to the Republicans, such that the Republicans actually get blamed for the aftereffects of all of Bush's bullshit policies while the veto-proof Congress actually gets the business of the people done.

The problem with Mike's idea is that he assumes Congress would actually do the business of the people rather than sitting around, wringing its collective hands, and vacillating.

Curious - Did Malloy say which of those evil pigfkrs we should help win?  I"m afraid my brain would leap from my head and throttle me to death if I even contemplated it.

was the pigfucker in question.

Poor McCain.  He used to be all right and then he sold himself out, 100%.

I think this (eventually) will become an interesting topic for discussion.

If the next president is a dem, how much will they be unfairly screwed/judged while dealing with the post-Bush clean-up?

I said, "tempted."  I'm not so stupid as to stomp my foot and make ultimatums.  The only sure bet is that if Hillary gets the nom I'll have some serious re-evaluating to do.  Trust me to do my best of it.

it does sound like me, so i ain't arguing it.  i think of all the disastrous things that happe ned under bill clinton's watch and i  get scared for&nb sp;the same under  hillary.

NAFTA, WTO, Freedom To Farm Act, Telecommunication s Act

we have a trade deficit, are losing economic dominance in the world market, our farms are disappearing, and our media sure as hell ain't more balanced.

hillary's riding on the coattails of that presidency.  i'm definitely not interested.
