It definitely doesn't pay to have this guy in the debates, he might actually get someone to
address substantive issures.

Thanks, gxttotten

That does it. Tomorrow I'm going down to register as a Democrat just so I can cast a vote for him in our primary.

This is one area I get irritated with when Ben comes on and everyone gets into a "slam Gravel" mood. THE GUY IS RIGHT! He might as well wear the uniform Niocholson did in "A Few Good Men," because as a nation, we CAN'T handle the truth.

The values Gravel espouses are those Bobby Kennedy believed in. He is a McGovern - Carter type Democrat and if there was ever a time we needed to get back to the sanity of those people, it's NOW.

So, you naysayers go ahead and laugh at the old guy. Call him senile, make fun of him, mock his outrage. One day, maybe you will understand that the America he wants to see again was a BETTER America.

...okay, I don't like his tax plan very much. Other than that...

Take some time to read where he stands on the issues, and then come back and tell me how "crazy" he is.

I WISH the other candidates were that crazy...

Yeah, I take your point, it's not like he's on there telling us why he's more capable of correcting the problems, but I haven't heard much in the way of solutions from any front-running candidate. Also, I'll just come out and say, I don't buy Obama's lines of "hope" and "yes we can". Hillary totally has him on that, but my point in linking the video was, why aren't the mainstream candidates on both sides discussing the nature of the national debt? I think you once accused me of trolling, (I'm not sure what a Troll is, new to blogging, but it sounds negative), for Ron Paul, but the fact is, this debt business scares the shit out of me, and he's the only one I heard talking about it. Now that RP has officially been written off as a lunatic, right or wrong, I'm looking for some other folks who are actually addressing the issue. I believe in being fiscally conservative at the federal level, so I'm apt to look at the Repub's, except they're all psychotic war mongers, which makes even less sense than proposing national health care that we can't pay for, (at least the Dems may try to spend the money at home and maybe help some people out, although I think this is misguided). Anyway, just trying to get people talking about the substance instead of the show; the Hillary tearing up/crying thing is the most prepostorous nonstory of the campaign, I can't figure out what Obama is trying to convince me of (other than to vote for him, yeah he seems like a nice enough guy), and Edwards seems to be about ten minutes from advocating class warfare (which even I will give him a pass on based on the price of gasoline). In the end, maybe I'm just partial to crotchety old guys, who tell everyone else they're full of shit.
