John McCain is now trying to make ACORN into a terrorist organization, Barack Obama's community organizing days into subversive activity, and Obama to blame for the economic collapse.

Watch.

Any ideas on how to counter this?

When you purposely distort the facts its a LIE. It is the worst kind of lie, one where you appear to be offering facts but are offering innuendo.
Next time you see something like this ask YOURSELF, if my kid said this about the neighbor kid would I allow this kind of behavoir. I dont think that anyone would.

But what to me is the most disturbing is that people can so consistantly delude themselves! I could type here till my fingers fall off and show you that the ad was full of crap. But since your argument for it being true is for me to prove it false, I think that I would rather go try and teach my dog to talk!

ACORN workers are paid by the hour, not by the registration.  They have no incentive to cheat.  In addition, Acorn must turn in all registrations they receive, including ones they believe to be (and always flag) as suspicious.  Unfortunately, government clerks often ignore the flags.

This will be bad for Obama only because right-wingers and other nutcases (like bobo1) will ignore the facts so they can smear Obama with more false charges.

Voter Fraud cases are a Fraud (none / 0)

Whenever there is a massive drive to register voters, some forms will be filled out incorrectly, and some BOZO will try to register Mickey Mouse.

The fact is that these registration problems DO NOT turn into attempts at voter fraud.  In the 2004 Presidential Election the Republicans claimed that there were thousands of fraudulent votes.  When pressed on the issue, they were only able to provide 24 instances where they suspected voter fraud.  Federal prosecutors pursued all 24 cases, and you know how many of them turned out to be voter fraud?

Zero.

Voter fraud is an excuse for the Republicans to engage in MASSIVE vote suppression.  In Republican-controlled swing states, like Florida, millions of legal voters are being purged from the voting rolls.  In particular, hispanics and persons of color are being targeted - they are 9 times more likely to be purged from the voter rolls than white people.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is in Colorado right now where the Republicans are attempting to disenfranchise more than 2 million voters, most of them black or hispanic.

One tip for Obama voters - DO NOT VOTE WITH MAIL-IN BALLOTS, unless absolutely necessary.  To begin with, approximately 10% of these ballots are thrown away right off the top.  Beyond that, of you use a mail-in ballot and your name has been purged from the voter rolls, there will be no way for you to know that your vote never was counted, let alone challenge being disenfranchised.  And even if everything is OK, if you do not include a COLOR copy of your driver's license, your ballot might not be counted.

This attack against ACORN is baseless, and is part of a larger effort by the Republicans to disenfranchise millions and millions of Democratic voters.
