Make Believe Maverick

This is the Rolling Stone article I referred to in the show on Monday. It is an excellent summary of John McCain's life and what a fraud he is.

If I was running a political campaign against McCain, this is the story I would make sure the American people knew about my opponent. Obama ran a different campaign, and it looks like it's working for him. But Democrats always leave their opponent standing.

If you read this article, you see that a guy like this should be ripped down and exposed as the classic politican opportunist that he is.

Journalists have to stop helping politicians build these myths about their lives. They have to show us the realitities of these people, as Tim Dickison did here. Obviously, I highly recommend this read.

The cover story attempts to tear down the "myth" of John McCain, taking his "maverick" trope and tenets of "country first" and "straight talk" head on...

I am starting to see stricking similarities between Sarah Palin and McCain. They both seem to present themselves as people they are not. Palin is not the friendly folksy person she wants herself to be seen as and McCain is not the heroic maverick veteran. They are just both upper class rich spoilt brats.

is what I would call him in my language, "daddy's boy".

It was a good article, loooong, but well-written, informative.

Thanks, Cenk.

John McCain failed to live up to the standard set by his Father and Grand-Father, his only chance is to achieve the one rank that they didn't, "Commander-In-Chief".

When I read the subject line of this thread (Make Believe Maverick), I thought you had created a Children's Pop-Up Book that exposed McCain.

Instead it was just some Rolling Stone article.

I'm just disappointed he didn't notice that we blogged this out a week ago.  Cenk, where ya been?

McCain's pop up section is also in the Viagra section.*

*Cheesy? Yes. Obvious? Yes. Had to do it on principle? Yes.
