Pro-lifers in yesterdays programme

OK, so in yesterday's programme we got a snippet of an interviewer talking to some pro-lifers about who they're voting for and why.

According to the woman they interviewed, she said life has to come first and that Obama supports murder and genocide (paraphrasing). When asked about the Iraq invasion, she supported it, reasoning that the innocent Iraqis caught up in the US occupation weren't US citizens and therefore not a concern for this election.

A fetus at the age of being legally abortable isn't alive in the true sense of the word, it doesn't have organs and as such lacks consciousness, doesn't have an immune system and its 'skin' is nothing more than an atom-thin membrane. The reason why we've set the legal abortion age at that age is because they have over a 99% mortality rate being born that much too soon. And even if they'd survive, their substantially shortened life would be lived in such agony that it would unquestionably be considered torture by even the most heartless of monsters (read: Cheney).

Now from what I've gathered, a fetus isn't considered a US citizen or it would be considered murder to preform an abortion.
To tie this back to the point I'm trying to make, the woman they interviewed was making the point that US citizen life has to come first and all other issues second. She also makes the argument that a fetus is a potential future US citizen and should therefore be considered a citizen already. What I would like to know is simply this, isn't an Iraqi civilian also a possible future US citizen?

Your logic would be too hard for them to grasp, since they lack reasoning skills.... (everything takes a back seat to their knee jerk reactions).

I'd also probably add to your line of questioning if they'd be against an iraqi citizen having an abortion, since a live iraqi already has such a low human value.

Sadly, in response to your argument they'd probably simply utter: murderer! BABY killer! terrorist-lover! KILL HIM!

Ironic, no?

has the right of citizenship,  how can they be sure that none of those Iraqi's weren't fetus Americans? And do we now have to administer pregnancy tests to all women entering or leaving the country to know if they are carrying an American citizen?

I can never figure out who I hate more; the idiots who want to change science books because they believe the world is only 6000 years old or the idiots who vote for warmongers because they want to save all the 'little babies'.

Pro-Lifer.  We are all pro-life.  The republicans and other right-wing nut cases are ANTI-CHOICE as in the anti-choice crowd wants to jail abortion providers for murder, or the anti-choice crowd wants to jail you for watching pornographic movies in your home.  They are anti-choice to such an extent that I have come to call them Moral Mullahs.  Now, if I could only convince Cenk to make the switch.

Thank you gatekeeper50! Anti-choice is never pro-life. It's impossible to ban all abortions. They can only ban safe medical abortions. I remember women dying from septic abortions before Roe v. Wade. It was horrendous. No rational person can be in favor of illegal abortions. Last year over 500,000 women died in pregnancy and childbirth. Both conditions can be dangerous, although rewarding. Nobody should be forced to go through either one against her will.

The choice is a woman vs. a foetus or embryo. That's triage. A woman's life is more important than her foetus. It's also her choice to give birth or abort. Anything else is none of anyone's business. Keep anti-choice politicians out of our lives!!

i suppose you would be perfectly happy with a pro-lifer pacifist, because _that_ combination of positions, according to your "brilliant" brain dropping, is free of this "contradiction" between killing and saving lives.

as pathetic and miserable as the "arguments" of pro-lifers are, the "counter-arguments&quo t; made against them are almost always just as shockingly bad.

if you favor access to abortion without government restriction, provide positive arguments for that position instead of trying to divine some apparent contradiction in the position of those who oppose abortion rights.

contradiction in the position of your opponents has never been viable as a legal argument, ever in the history of jurisprudence.

you can "argue" all you want about contradiction and cognitive dissonance, but when "roe v. wade" gets overturned, all that bloviating will come to naught because the legal system does not give a flying fuck about the "contradictions" in the minds of the retards who want to protect fetuses while executing murderers and iraqis.

Simply writing an angry reply with lots of loaded adjectives, overusing citation marks and claiming the opposition's argumentation is pathetic doesn't automagically make it so. It doesn't make you right and it doesn't convince anyone, nor does it present any other viewpoint. Go away, troll.
