I am SO sick of hearing Republicans claim that the AUMF was a vote for war "and everybody knows it".
At that time, only Democrats had the courage to say that. GW Bush was claiming with every breath that he wanted the author
ity to act (the AUMF) precisely because he wanted to avoid war.
According to all of the Republicans, at the time, George W Bush had to be taken at his word, and anyone who doubted Bush was calling him a liar -- an insufferable insult.

Well, now it seems that all of those Republicans not only know he WAS lying, but indeed knew he was lying even as he spoke. Going further, when all of these Republican voices cried out in righteous indignity at the mere hint that Bush should be mistrusted, they were themselves lying through their teeth. And all of this, mind you, they now proudly proclaim as "common knowledge".
So, let me get this straight, everyone that voted yes on AUMF was directly voting FOR the war? To make this claim you first have to proudly stand up and say "Yes, I am a bald face liar, and so is GW Bush, and always has been!"
Please. Let me hear them make this confession, then I will consider their distortions on the AUMF.
