"Families should be able to defend themselves against rapists, drug dealers and other criminals illegally crossing our borders." - NRA Member Andy Vaquera in the new NRA AD not supporing Obama.

Technically, there is nothing wrong with that statement.

So, what's the problem, you ask?

The ad in question is in Spanish , targeted to Latino voters in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

To insult an entire group of people, calling them criminals who you can't defend yourself from because of a gun law is a bit on the dangerous and radical side.

Many immigrants are hard working and let's face it, they wouldn't be here if the companies hiring them would follow the law.

I'm not saying all immigrants are not criminals, but not all criminals are immigrants. 

This type of stereotyping will not "fly with many Latino voters," who themselves came from parents or grandparents who came to the U.S.

For this, I thank the NRA.  Using these tactics against Obama will most likely ensure the voters vote for Obama.  As we've seen already, the violence and hate at recent rallies aren't exactly coming from Obama's supporters.

So, remind me again who I should be scared of?

I keep meeting people of Mexican descent here who favor McCain.  I think that it may be that a combination of bigotry, age, Republican dishonesty, and especially disappointment over Clinton's loss that fuel McCain's ability to attract latino voters here.  I am confused, however, when I hear polls report that McCain's support among latinos is down around roughly 25%-30%.  I meet way too many people who are considering voting for McCain.  But this is southern New Mexico, which is a rather strange place anyway.

That ad, with its appeal to family safety against criminals, might have had an impact if it hadn't mentioned illegal immigrants at all.  A large portion of these people also support the Pri in Mexico, the long-time election-stealing political party of privilege currently in power there that is responsible for creating the impoverished Republican paradise that is Mexico today.

First figure out how long it will take to round up 20 million people, then tell us where you're going to put them while you process their habeas corpus claims and other appeals, the tell us how much it will cost, then tell us how long it will take to build the infrastructure to transport, house, maintain, and adjudicate them, and then tell us how long it will take to actually execute this mammoth plan that will cost more and is more complicated than any single task that humanity has ever undertaken in history.

Or are you really so stupid that you haven't thought of any of those things?

You want to house them, adjudicate them, take care of their boo boos and let them vote - I dont...

Fuck their Habeaus Corpus claims - they arent citizens they dont the same rights that we do!!!

Fuck their appeals - they dont belong here, they broke the law, ship them out...

Here in Phoenix its really simple to find illegals - anyone hanging around a Home Depot to start with - thats a couple of thousand right there, every day...

Then we hit the maintainance and cleaning companies at schools, hotels and office buildings - theres another several thousand...  daily

Then we go to the food growing and processing areas like Aguilla and Dateland - Theres another several thousand... daily

Then we need to destroy the businesses that hire them. We are taking the steps now here in Arizona, and its working (slowly). We are about to re-elect Sheriff Joe and the infrastructure to eliminate the blatant illegals here...

Id rather pay for Bus fare for them than Health Care - hell I'll volunteer to transport them myself a couple times a month - its not that far to the border...

I know it is impossible to get everyone - but we could get a Hell of a lot more than we are getting now if little whiny ass Liberals like you would step aside and let REAL patriots do their duty and defend OUR borders and OUR freedoms...

This should be an instantaneous type of thing - catch and release in its simplest terms - if they want to argue their status, they can do it from where they belong - do we not have consulate/embassy offices in most countries?

Secondly, you are making the false assumption that under our Constitution that illegal immigrants have the same rights and privileges as we citizens do - they should not and they do not in this case...

How can I tell if someone is illegal? For me, personally, its easy - No English, No Papers, No DL, Fake or used SSN and Birth Certificate, No insurance, 20 families in one house, armed, Arizona Medicaid Card in hand, Food Stamp card in hand and 5 babies attached to the womans hip - Yeah, Juarez, its really easy to spot em around here. I imagine its about the same in Las Cruces too... Just take a look around...

Its people like you who make people like me hate Liberals. Its people like you who allow this criminality to continue and to let this issue kill local economies.
