< News Media Should Be Biased Against McCain | Does McCain "pall around" with a Terrorist >

Man, I am tired of waiting for this election, aren't you?  At this point, I don't think any October Surprises (like Obama's illegal step-aunt--get on it Ken!) are going to change anything, so the news isn't as gripping.  Gallup shows Obama up by 10 points today, but the real impact of the infomercial won't fully show in the polls until Sunday, so I hear.  Obama's lead holds firm and anything you hear otherwise in the MSM seems like trying to squeeze blood out of a rock.  I voted by mail several days ago.  Now, I would be happy to stand in line for many hours to vote for Obama, but if were a McPalin supporter?  If you anticipated a loss, and your enthusiasm was low, would you stand in a long line for hours to vote?

by taking the first three days in November off-treating it like a holiday. I have a "use it or lose it" vacation policy through work and can't think of a better time to "use it."

You have several good points pear, as usual, and I totally agree that Obama supporters find it worthwhile to be part of history with this vote, whereas many McSame supporters have to hold their noses. There are several people in my family who remain "undecided"-repub licans disillusioned with McCain, and I bet they stay home!!!:-)

Damn, is that a bobcat?

by perdido619 on 11/01/2008 04:40:57 PM EST

but it's hard to tell from this.  It's pretty amazing the sounds that can come from wild animals.

I see the tufted face. That sound is bizare - almost human.

The cat doesn't like this guy, and the guy isn't a cat person. Watch how he mocks the cat - classic cat-hater move. Perdido's guess: it's the wife's cat.

How do you embed videos?

by schmoab on 11/01/2008 10:25:46 PM EST

First disable the WYSIWYG editor in Preferences->Interface.

Then have a look at this link to see how it's done:

Embedding YouTube Videos as Valid XHTML 1.0

From the front page, beneath your member name on the right, select "My Preferences"

Select "Interface"

Uncheck the "WYSIWYG Editor" box

Save changes

Create your blog post and paste the embed code into your post--you do not need to use the link or insert picture feature.

Now, you will need to strip out a bit of the code to make it work.  Strip out the allowfullscreen="true" portion of the text.

There is another bit it will ask you to take out too--I forget what it is, but it will show on the preview.

Preview

If it still looks funky, make sure you SAVED your changes to the WYSIWYG editor, and try deleting the space after the quotation mark.

I don't think it works to start a post, change your settings, then backpedal to your post.  Change the settings first. I rarely get it right the first time and had to experiment a little to get it right.
