Make the effort to Recycle Campaign Signs where you live!
posted by Pensacola
In an effort to go green in Escambia County Florida, I have been in pursuit of how to recycle campaign signs.
For Northwest Florida this and other information can be found at the Escambia Democrats web site if you need specifics for Northwest Florida,
www.escambiademocrats.org
Before recently recycling corrugated campaign signs was not an option, so this is new to our area.
The alternative to recycling campaign signs in this fashion is to return the signs to the candidate they represent to used in a future campaign.
Either way the goal is to keep these campaign signs out of the landfills.
If you put the signs in your regular garbage containers like residents in Escambia County use, they will end up in the landfills and that is what we don't want.

Thanks for your help.
I shortened this information to edit out what is specifically relating to my part of America.
I wanted to make this post to encourage others around our country to step up and get involved in the effort to recycle campaign signs.
Please contact in your area the Management for Recycling Operations of your city or county and contact your local media to make sure we are not needlessly filling up landfills with campaign signs that can either be reused in the next election or can be made into something else.
