Obama Gives Berlusconi the Respect He Deserves
posted by grebrim
Obama's reaction to Berlusconi's speech in Washington in 2006 shows he's got principles and good judgement on international affairs.
For those of you who are not so familiar with Italian politics.:
Silvio Berlusconi is in power for the third time now, which is as if Rupert Murdoch had bought MSNBC, CNN, CBS, the Washington Post and the New York Times and then used his media power to become president.
Berlusconi has used his time in government to pass laws that will guarantee him immunity for every crime he has committed, not just during, but also before (!) his time in office.
Last week, he has caused outrage because in his first official reaction to the result of the U.S. election, he called Obama "young, good-looking and tanned"
Well, the admiration seems to be reciprocated, watch how Obama reacts to Berlusconi's speech in Washington in 2006. He seemed to be the only person aware of the fact that inviting him to hte House and thus giving him a(nother) forum was an outrage:
