Being allowed to vote took some convincing

So I just went and voted here in the "real Virginia."  As usual, they gave me a little bit of a hard time.

So I just went and voted here in the "real Virginia."  As usual, they gave me a little bit of a hard time.  As background, the US Post Office refuses to deliver to my street address (or anyone in my complex for that matter, despite all of us having discrete addresses).  So I am required to maintain a PO Box, which in Virginia is allowed to be listed as your address on your drivers license.

When I got up to the table at the polling place and gave my license, they asked for my street address, which I gave.  They then asked me for more ID, saying that they couldn't accept my license because it had a PO Box.  They told me to go home and get a bill with my street address on it...something that DOESN'T EXIST.

I pointed out that they had my PO Box listed on their rolls (I could read it...) as well as the street address which I had just recited. They still said to go get a form of ID with my street address on it.  When I said there was no such thing, they argued about it for a while, I continued to insist my ID was proper, and eventually they let me vote.

In other news, my polling place was offering a choice between paper and electronic ballots.  Because I have a clue, I chose paper.  I just got home and put on CNN, and they have a reported on from Richmond, VA saying that you can only use paper ballots in case of emergency...like a power outage.  Off to do some research, because now I'm worried!
