There trying there hardest to win still!

Okay this is crazy and I cannot believe this is happening.

It looks like the Republicans are not finished just yet. I work in a Mail Center in Texas and people have been mailing letters to the supreme court this week. So I decided to ask what this is all about. Come to find out, it is about a court case to prove that Obama is not a citizen in the U.S. Now call me crazy but is this just a complete load of bull or is it just me. This people down here are completly full of crap. I just wanted to get your feed on this because I almost wanted to hit the person that was talking to me about this, but I really like my job.

There? Would be republicans.

Where? Would be The Supreme Court in Washington DC.

This is a real case and I can't believe its happening. There trying to undo the Election. The Judgement will be this Friday.

They're is short for "they are" - there (different usage) is no excuse for poor grammar!!!

by bobo1 on 12/02/2008 08:34:32 PM EST

There's also no excuse for not sending a PM to the original poster so that he/she could save face and make the correction quietly.

Plus then they think you're nice and friendly which is a plus.

Of being even remotely nice? Plus the poster did it twice in the same sentence... If it makes you feel better, Tom, I apologize - you have to understand that I teach Writing as well as History, so sometimes I get into "the zone" when it comes to grammar! :)

They still haven't fixed it, Tom, even after being informed of the issue - at least we know R's don't care - I thought you L's did... :)

Since it makes him so angry, let's all correct bobo's spelling and grammar mistakes from now on.  For instance, when you were talking about "Japs" earlier, I think you might have meant "Japanese people".  See?  Now we're all learning?  DEATH TO THE LIBERAL ILLUMINATE!!!

by Spencer on 12/03/2008 02:50:32 AM EST

I said "Japs" and I meant JAPS... I don't know how to make that any clearer - and furthermore, I wasn't speaking about Japanese AMERICANS - I was referring to the Japs in JAPAN. Please read and take context into account before sounding like a complete buffoon... :)

That's what he promised to do, see? If Hillary were at the top there would be no progressives in government.

Bush is a uniter too. He united conservatives and liberals against the GOP.

can truly be called a progressive?

Clinton? Richardson? Napolitano? Holder? Daschle?

Yeah, hes a uniter alright - He has reunited Bill Clinton's Administration from 1993! Lets see, what happened in 1994...

Please spare me your tripe, Hazzie. You progressives have been had, and you can't even see it right in front of your face!!!

and two faces. I don't get it. First you post something with the claim that America is "flirting with socialism" by choosing Obama, and now you argue that Obama is a moderate righty. Not that anyone has ever accused you of a modicum of internal consistency bobo, but you're really not making any sense at all in this thread. As to suppposed dissappointments, as I stated previously, Obama has so far done and governed his transition EXACTLY as promised. Anyone who is dissappointed probably wasn't listening that closely.

True, I don't like some of his appointments, because a couple of them were directly involved in policies that precipitated the current crisis. But I'm giving Obama the benefit of some time since thus far he has been right about damn near everything from electoral politics to policy. That's why we live in a representative democracy, we trust that our leaders can make better decisions than we can on day to day operations of the government. So, I don't have to like all his appointments to be pleased with his performance.

If you look at Obama's appointments, they represent a spectrum of political and economic philosophies, and they are among the best and the brightest in their respective fields. Obama will succeed where Bush failed because he will be a strong executive making informed choices, instead of a weak executive allowing informed subordinates to make strong choices to fit his ideology (and keep their jobs).

It should tell you something that you have opposed nearly 100% of Obama's actions and rhetoric. That means you've been damn wrong about everything he was damn right about.

Of course, you don't stand for anything at all, as this thread and infinite previous threads plainly show. Talking to you is like building something with jello. There's no substance to hold the structure up.

Has there been some breakthrough truth that I am unaware of? Some revelation from the Messiah that has not befallen the darkness of my soul?

What I am saying is that Hippie Cockroaches like Spencer and the rest of the gang are crying their eyes out because they are dependant on this idea of Hope and strong leadership. What Obama has given us a preview of through his appointments is Clintonism 101.

Hazzie, you cant honestly tell me that the choices for top posts that have been made public represent the best and brightest of anything?

Hillary "Dodge the Snipers in Bosnia" at State?  Hillary "I let my husband fuck an intern and now I control the security of the world" Clinton???

Bill "Im Spanky from Our Gang whose already been a UN Ambassador and Energy Secratary but cant seem to get any higher" Richardson at Commerce? What the Hell does he know about business and commerce??? He lives in one of the least business friendly states in the nation!!!!

Tom "I'm such a pussy that I got voted out of South Dakota because they thought I was a pansy" Daschle at HHS? Is he even trained in Medical or Social Work????

Eric "I helped pardon Mark Rich, one of the slimiest sons a bitches ever to be pardoned" Holder at AG??? Token appointment, anyone? Its not like having a black president means anything anymore...

Janet " My state allows more illegals in than Czechoslovakia in 1989" Napolitano???!!! God Damn, we're gonna have Cameras EVERYWHERE NOW!!!

Yeah, Hazzie, this is a great collection of "THE BEST OF THE BEST" - You have got to be fucking kidding me, right - Are you gonna sit there and Bald Face lie to us and say that Progressives and other Libs are OK with this???

You guys are pathetic - you cant even admit that your Messiah is just another false prophet looking out for his own ass...

:)

Is he an extreme leftist, or a closet moderate?

Pretty much everything you said there was wrong or at least poorly thought out.  But more importantly, where have I been crying my eyes out over these appointments?  Pull a quote for me.  I've been pretty happy with most of them.  So you're dreaming about that, and you didn't address hazmat's criticism at all.

And your criticisms all sound pretty hollow when you fucking voted for the guy less than a month ago and he hasn't even started doing the actual job yet.

This is just yet another time that you're saying random shit that you think is provocative in hopes of stirring up some anger.

If we're all pathetic, you're even more so.  You come to this site solely to provoke your own outrage.  It would be different if you actually gave a shit about the show or the community surrounding it or anything, but you don't.  It's sad that you just come here to act superior and feign anger.  That's pathetic.

by Spencer on 12/03/2008 06:09:19 PM EST

[ Parent ]
you had me laughing pretty hard with this comment. I like the idea that bobo is here to provoke himself into outrage. His previous comment certainly fits this model. He's still not sure whether to critique Obama because his picks are too liberal, too inexperienced, or too centrist to please his socialist backers. Its a bunch of hollow vitriol directed at highly accomplished individuals that haven't even had a chance to begin governing yet. Its been many years since anything factual squared with booboo's world view, so he's understandably disoriented. And saying Barack Obama appointed Holder as a "token", well I'll assume booboo is joking. Its not worth responding to. What a waste of cyberspace.

by hazmat on 12/03/2008 07:02:16 PM EST

[ Parent ]
Hazzie, why don't you refute any of the facts that I presented about the appointees? You can't, because you know I'm right, and so now you don't feel like arguing. Name me another black cabinet member Obama will appoint - or another Hispanic other than Richardson - they are both window dressing to appease voter groups who support Obama - Every president does it, why is Obama any different? And you still haven't answered my initial question - what has Obama done to earn himself praise from progressives? I have yet to hear an answer... :)

by bobo1 on 12/03/2008 08:12:10 PM EST

[ Parent ]

Well, because he's a radical socialist who's going to destroy America as we know it, that's why.  That's what you've been arguing previously.

So which one is it?  Is he a moderate who faked liberal so he could get elected (though I don't know who he'd be playing to, since the country is "center-right" apparently), or is he an extreme left wing nutjob like all of us typical libs here on the site?

by Spencer on 12/03/2008 08:27:01 PM EST

[ Parent ]
to refute an accusation that Obama discriminates against black people and hispanics because he only appointed one person of each heritage into his cabinet. That assertion is stupid on its face.

by hazmat on 12/03/2008 09:15:23 PM EST

[ Parent ]
I said he nominated them because of their race and heritage, solely for political window dressing... There's no discrimination in that, except for maybe discriminating against people who might actually be QUALIFIED for their positions - isn't that the problem we had with Bush's appointments? You still can't argue the facts, can you Hazzie... :)

by bobo1 on 12/03/2008 09:34:45 PM EST

[ Parent ]

The fact that you don't like Obama's appointments or that two of them are minorities doesn't prove that he passed over more qualified individuals to fill some quota. I can't follow you because you're simultaneously telling me that you think Obama is a liberal hack (appointing "token minorities"), but that I should be displeased with him for appointing conservatives. Do you have a point at all? No. Spencer hit the nail on the head.

You've served up a spider web of self-conflicting opinions, backed by nothing, and yet, you say I can't "argue the facts". Well, let me start by saying I disagree with your opinions, and end by saying that I don't argue facts, I accept them (with healthy skepticism) from reliable sources and interpret their meaning.

Move along now, you've been spanked.

by hazmat on 12/03/2008 10:36:47 PM EST

[ Parent ]
Spank your monkey without express written instructions that included illustrations... You still haven't answered or responded to my question - Are these nimrods that Obama has nominated the "Best of the Best" that he could have possibly picked??? Are they simply window dressing intended to appease voter constituencies or are they really QUALIFIED to do what they are supposed to do? Before you think about spanking strange men over the internet, perhaps you could actually respond to the initial statements I made instead of being a holier than thou Liberal who secretly cries because Obama is surrounding himself with Moderates and Hacks!!! :)

by bobo1 on 12/04/2008 08:52:49 AM EST

[ Parent ]

actually. Those are your opinions. Opinions are not statements of fact, they are subjective interpretations. I can only say that I disagree, with the caveat that I don't like all of Obama's appointments, per se. Would you like me to reword it a 3rd time, maybe that will help?

by hazmat on 12/04/2008 11:50:27 AM EST

I said that the progressives just got their asses handed to them on a dirty plate and its most likely gonna be DLC business as usual and the Greenies & Progressives (those that I affectionately refer to as Hippie Cockroaches) just got screwed...

Things might move a little bit in that direction, but Obama is not gonna let you guys run the roost, because he knows we will run him out of office if he does...

If you are so dyslexic that you can't even recognize proper letters on a standard keyboard, then you need to get off the blogs and back into occupational therapy real quick-like... Face it. Re thug licans are the pussy whiners. Excuse me. LOOOOOOOOSSSSSSEEEEERRRRRs!   I even read where Jeb has proposed the Re thug licans create a "shadow government."  Just another idiot re thug lican that knows nothing about the Constitution.  OH excuse me again.  The re thug licans don't give a shyt about the constitution. As Bush was once quoted "the constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper."  Well losers. Live with you loss and face reality.  The authorities in Hawaii have already authenticated Obamas birth certificate. Look it up.
BTW, "shadow government"?  Hey re thug lican losers.  This isn't a bannana republic anymore.  We are in the process of moving back toward a real democracy.  Stop the whinning and face reality.  Get on board and help heal this country.  It needs to be resusitated after being run into the ground from eight years of greed, thuggery and draining the treasury into re thug lican cronie coffers.
