A suck-up "Jayar Rocks" post

The topic of the music that gets played on the show comes up now and then, or so it seems to me.  I have an opinion, too, and it's a positive one.

Look, my idea of good music is what you generally hear on the "Dinosaurs of Rock & Roll" channel.  When I'm in a mellow mood it's generally jazz, or some Eagles.  I don't know from Amy Winehouse (I had to Google her when Cenk brought her up) or any of the stuff that's come out in the past, oh, thirty years or so.

But the intro/outro stuff Jayar plays, even if it's a song I'd never even in a million years listen to on my own, seems to Just Work(tm).  It sets the tone beautifully, at least in my opinion.  If I take the trouble to listen often the lyrics are related to something in the segment.  C'mon, how cool is that?  I don't know what monster library of music he has at his fingertips, but it's got to be hella impressive.

And that's pretty much what I wanted to say.  Keep on rockin'!

We need a Jayar music segment.  He can review new albums or something.

I've just started listening to the RPG podcast from yesterday (Tuesday, the 12th) and less than two minutes in Cenk muses on that very thing.  How cool is that?  I'm in!

Is it possible that he was responding to an e-mail I had sent them the day before?  ...   I'm not saying anything...

That monster library is available to anyone via file sharing. It's the file system in your head that matters when it comes down to matching the song to the moment.

Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the depth or breadth of Jayar's choices, but agree that what he uses generally works - I'd prefer far less repeats, but I don't listen to TYT to get a music education.
