Mr. Obama, we will need a fighter

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
The Republicans are focusing tightly on you, Mr. Obama, as Mrs. Clinton falls back in the delegate race. Your family will have  to harden themselves now, as we know the attacks will be relentless, unfair, personal, hurtful, and vicious.

You've gotten just a taste, a mere hint of what the cons have in store for you, from Mrs. Clinton and her supporters.

I'm sure you heard Tom Buffenbarger, president of the machinists' union, and Clinton supporter, call you out last night, in what apparently substituted for an introduction, saying;
"I've got news for all the latte-drinking, Prius- driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust fund babies crowding in to hear him speak! This guy won't last a round against the Republican attack machine. He's a poet, not a fighter.”

To this just say NAFTA=Bill Clinton, but this guy's right about the looming attack machine.

The smear tactics have begun. Have you seen the the clip of your wife saying, "for the first time, I'm reallly proud of my country..." She's referring to the positive political wave that's sweeping the country, due to her husband in large part. Probably not the way she would say it given another chance, and, without context, it's fodder for McCain.

But if you link to this clip from Drudge's site, someone has already edited out the "really" part, so she seems to say; "for the first time, I'm proud of my country...". That sounds totally different and plays right into the meme the cons are trying to fit around your family, portraying you as phony-Americans. As black muslim foreigners with no real love for, or allegiance to our nation, who will betray the country given the chance.

I don't think attacks like these, and the worst is surely still to come, can stem this tide of change you are inspiring, but it will certainly be a mean, atavistic, chokeholds and bayonettes battle. So when you least expect it, expect it.

But also expect this. This sea change in our country is made up of millions of us who are fired-up, ready to fight, and ready to feed the energy you've given to us, right back to you. We will inspire you too.

I've heard so many of your supporters saying they need  an ally who will give it all, leave it all out on the stage, "on the field of battle." That you won't back down. That you will take the fight right to the oppostion, with no apologies for the convictions you hold.

We've been let down so many times as certain Democrats have yielded so easily to this corrupt regime, that it will take your actions and your words to overcome the smears, and keep this wave moving. I think we may need constant reminders, again, in action and speech, that you will stand up for yourself, and for us.

Who have "we" voted for. a first term senator who ran virtually unopposed, most who have voted for him have no idea what his record is, nor do they know what skeletons may be buried. Notice how the bones are just now starting to slip out

killed the other two candidates.  So how did "we" choose them based on what you've said?

The Democrats swept both houses of congress despite all the doom and gloom predictions. McCain is a flawed choice. There are so many issues that can be used against him. The main one of course being that he wants to stay in Iraq.

Democrats are out voting the republicans 3 to 1  there is a sea change happening in this country and the same ole dirty tricks are not going to work.

If they think they can win by reaching in the same ole bag of dirty tricks, playing the race card, calling obama muslim and so forth. They are going to have a huge problem in the elections. In fact the republicans already know they have a huge problem . The social conservatives don't like McCain. The corporatists don't like McCain, the religious right don't like McCain. Rush Limbaugh , Sean Hannity , Bill O Reily have said that nominating McCain will destroy the party.

Obama is not a push over and he is definitely not stupid. He must be doing something right because he is kicking everyones ass including McCain as more people vote for Obama than  Hillary and Mc Cain combined.

He didn't win 10 straight by being stupid. He wasnt born yesterday He is fully aware of what the republicans are so do the voters in this country.

If the media is trying to get rid of Obama. They really really suck at it.

Bush may not be running for president but everyone knows that many of his policies are in  the form of John McCain

Now wait for someone to point out that "Republicans are voting for Obama in the primaries".  Indeed they are, but not that many.  The numbers are undeniable.

The media has just started after Obama this week! I remember when names like Kerry, Gore & Dukakis were "leading" in the polls by large amounts.
I wonder how motivated the masses will be to vote after 6 months of slime that will make the last election look like a walk in the park.

Since you are adamant that he doesnt have a record to run on. Then what exactly is the media going to "get him" on?

I never said Obama had no record to run on. Lets not use distortion in a debate. Mark my words the media has already started to turn on him. I can only hope he can handle it

The "Good Republicans" are voting for Clinton.  They got the memo, but it's not going to matter.  You see at my work during lunch I heard our superintendent and the next highest ranking employee saying they've got to vote for Clinton.  They want to run in the general against Clinton NOT Obama.  I didn't want to get into a discussion about why they want to keep a Republican in the White House but was struck by the one mindedness.  "Yeh, vote for Clinton, vote for Clinton, we'll get that old white man elected."  I think that's it.  It's got to be a man and it would be great if he were white.  I was disappointed but not really surprised.
