I've been surprised at how PERSONALLY many female Hillary supporters have taken her candidacy.  As if it was a REFERENDUM about whether a woman SHOULD be President.  They see Hillary as the LAST, ONLY hope of a woman becoming President.  And Hillary has played the Gender Card HARD, while Obama has barely played the Race Card at all.

But I think Hillary has actually HURT women in politics.  By portraying herself as the ONLY female national political leader.

1992 was hailed as "The Year of the Woman." That was 16 years ago.  But who OUTSIDE Hillary have tried to make a PRESENCE on the NATIONAL STAGE???  All these female Senators and Governors, but NO ONE will take on the national stage except Hillary.  Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Kay Bailey Hutchison.  Left or Right, women in politics seem CONTENT to gain a certain level in politics and STAY THERE.

Much ado has been made about how SEXIST BIAS has shot down Hillary.  But Hillary has LIVED UP to Sexist's BIAS against women!  She HAS been SHRILL on the campaign trail.  She has been pedantic in her rhetoric.

But setting HERSELF as a REFERENDUM as to whether a woman SHOULD be President has set her up as the STABDARD bt which OTHER NATIONAL candidates SHOULD be JUDGED! 

With all the BAGGAGE that Hillary's campaign comes with.  (Is she just running on Bill's COAT TAILS?  Can a woman become a National Figure without having the advantage of having the success of SOMEONE ELSE catapulting her there?)

Hillary COULD be the first woman President.  WHO WILL BE THE SECOND???  There's NO ONE out here in the running!!!

It seems the women put in the national spotlight have been YEILDING to Hillary so that SHE could be the ONE FEMALE NATIONAL CANDIDATE.

And future national candidates WILL BE JUDGED as to how well Hillary does.  Even if Hillary was ELECTED, if her Presdency FAILS, doesn't it make it IMPOSSIBLE for the NEXT Female presidentail candidate to succeed?
