What if Obama just decided to declare victory, choose a running mate (not you Hil, probably John Edwards), and announce that, he's done the math, and decided to move on to smashing Republicans?

Wouldn't that be sweet?

Maybe he doesn't know who his running mate should be? Besides he's pretty much guaranteed to lose Pennsylvania so maybe he should wait until he has some states he can win after that one?

Interesting questions, matvarns, but it's just not his style for a couple of reasons. He's much smarter than Wolfson/ Penn and so he will be happy to furnish the rope for HRC to hang herself. Also, he's smart and experienced enough re: the lingering racism in the US to know it would make him look uppity and he'd end up alienating independents. Obama's strategy is Taekwondo, not Karate.

But would those who would consider Obama "uppity" if he took an assertive stance vote for him anyway?  Or might he be more likely to attract some Nascar dads who really don't have any racist leanings but who do respect strength?

Evening Star, I live in the solar plexus of NASCAR country and I don't see a lot of NASCAR dads who are at all interested in Obama 'round here. In my experience, and to totally stereotype them some more, haha, they tend to vote AGAINST a candidate they despise rather than FOR a candidate they respect.

Q: "Wouldn't that be sweet?"

A: Yes... Yes it would.  It's less than likely, but it would be sweet indeed.
