Olbermann To Do "Special Comment" About Hillary Tonight

This is the first time Keith's special comment will be directed towards a specific Democrat, and I love it.  Be sure to tune in or set you DVR to MSNBC, 8pm EST.

I wish he had focused on other aspects of Hillary's campaign.  I think he was hyperfocused on one issue and he only very briefly touched on experience (it was great when he did though).

Here it is.

I saw it too, ihavenobias. I like to listen to Olbermann most of the time, but I didn't think it was one of his more effective rants. Sometimes I want to say OK, OK, we heard you the first time, Keith. The more hyper he gets, the less effective his message and I wish he would just tone it down a bit. And then when he finishes with the Murrow phrase, I find myself cringing. Perpetual righteous indignation eventually loses its punch.

"Perpetual righteous indignation eventually loses it's punch."  Tell that to every right wing pundit and talk show host...  wait... you're right.

I still like the comments, but I think the regular show is more effective for getting the message out (when he's not covering pop culture bullshit of course, which seems to be about a third of the show).

That's why he maintains things like OddBall and other weird pop culture shit. I mean, if he only covered the campaign trail and only covered the Bush Administration, you'd say he really needs to tone it down, correct? I think they see that and are trying to make sure to keep the show a bit lighter than what it could be by having a lot of silly segments.

Personally, I think it's transparent and Keith would be better served at having smaller Oddball segments and more ads. Really.

The rant was a bit incoherent, but only a bit. I think it's still good though to have a commentator on a major news station who doesn't toe the Bush/Versailles press line and instead attacks from the left. I like that and see that sometimes the rants will be misses, but overall it's still a great plus for the progressive cause.

Cynicism is poison to reform and pumps life into the status quo.
