Why do fools fall in love

Obama

There is an old saying Democrats fall in love, republicans fall in line. And so true it is.

I have sat back the last few days to watch my brethern discuss the Rev. Write/Obama response issue.

I try my best to be fair and I try my best not to Bash people, or read their minds.

First of all the facts, as I am aware of them.

20 years ago Rev. Stewart "saved Obama and converted him to Christianity.

Rev. Stewart gained noteriety and fame has a preacher though his provocative sermons and speeches. With video and audio tapes sold by the church as a recruitment and spiritual tool.

Obama (based on his book) developed a very close relationship with Rev. Wright, to the point that he would run ideas past the good Reverand, seeking his advise and guidance.

Jan. 2007 it has been documented that Rev Wright and Obama had a discussion comcerning the fact that they might have to distance themselves from each other because the Reverand "might" become a liability.

This weekend Obama posted a response in the Huffington Post and agreed to be interviewed by Keith Oberman

Aside (An Afro-American Democratic strategist and Obama Supporter named Keith Boykin) reveals what he called America's dirty little secret, that the views expressed by Rev. Wright are mainstream views of the Afro-Amercan community and can be heard in churches and sermons all across America.

Questions

1) If Sen. McCain was in  a situation like this and he posted a response on Drudge and went on Fox News to be interviewed by Britt Hume. What would be the response in this forum?

2) If I were to play a greatest hits package from the preaching of Pat Robertson or Farwell or Hagee or Parsley would it be unfair to judge them on the basis of a few clips? Would it be wrong to have concerns about his follower, especially ones with "close" personal ties to him?

I personally believe that if this were any other candidate their would be anger, rage and disappointment amongst his supporters

Obama claimed that he did not "know" about the statements until recently? It defies logic on several differnt levels (this is not a situation where someone was stealing money or hiding an affair) This was done in the open and recorded. These sermons are topics of discussion within that church community. To put it bluntly there is no way he could not have known. Not to mention the fact that this issue was already discussed between the 2 men over a year ago. A lie is one thing, a blatant one, intended strictly for his supporters is some thing else.

Obama supports extol the virtues of Obama's judgement and yet what do we have here? He should have left the church years ago, especially after deciding to run for the U.S. Senate. He didn't have to make a special announcement or embarrass the church, he simply could have just left. Had he done so this issue could easily be brushed aside. He could have distance himself last year but didn't, why?

What makes me angry is that not only did Obama know about this, the DNC knew about it and worse of all they both knew that the MEDIA was aware of this.(isn't it amazing how the "evil-bitch" Clinton has not used this). Did they really think that the media wouldn't run with this story? Did they really think that the Pubs wouldn't use this against him? Let's go a step further what is up with Obama's views of patriotism? How hard is it to wear a pin or cross your heart (especially knowing about your past and how easily it can be twisted.).

Make no mistake the timing of this was quite specific to do the most damage it can to the Democratic party. Notice how coy the MSM is being, how they only let out a sniff about this (compare the coverage between Ferraro and Wright)If Clinton goes on a streak, wins the popular vote and the nomination she will be accused of theft (especially in the black community). If Obama wins the nomination it will only be a matter of time before we see his face at one of these sermons

The pubs have already laid the foundation of their attack and Obama knows that too and yet we are left with more questions than answers? Obama now is going to be painted as a coward hiding behind the Huffington Post and Countdown.

Obama should have went on Fox and took the heat and used the excuse of not wanting to uproot his family (from a good church) because his friend can be a whack job when he doesn't take his medication. He could have stated that one of the most important things in a Christians life is the ability to forgive. That you don't just throw people away because they occassionally say bad things.

Too late now.

Suggestion to the DNC & Liberal activist (start a draft Gore now campaign) to unite the party and offer VP to Colin Powell

Your voice of reason and distinction rise above all of the squabbling and bitching down here on the ground.

You are 100% right/0% wrong, and you will surely be eviscerated here by the Obamabots...

I will stand by you sir, when the ripping of your flesh begins, because I believe that you have spoken the truth...

Thanks for your bravery...you are a better man than I...

Obama bad  Hillary Good

As an obamabot I would like to express my thanks for your concern. No really.

Btw if Bobo The Clown endorses your post. Its a sign of just how far off the rails it went.

Mind reading again I see.

Where did I say Good Clinton bad Obama?

I pointed out a set of facts (as I am aware of them)

In fact for the sake of the party I reccomended that Gore should be the nominee.

I do have a troubling tendency to play devils advocate especially if I feel that a person is being treated unfairly.

I hate losing elections, especially when they are winnable. This is not about personality it is simply about winning.

In my opinion everyone needs to put their "feelings" aside and start thinking about how we can win in November (and start by remembering how we have lost in the past)

I was just made aware that Obama was also on CNN and Fox news on Friday night.

Kudos to Mr. Obama and I stand corrected

If you gave a damn about how Obama-bots viewed your main points, I'd encourage you that some hear you loud and clear.

I am more than willing to discuss the topic. I am not perfect or all knowing. I like to be fair and I dislike hypocracy.

I originaly supported Edwards and right now I am leaning toward Clinton for 3 reasons (experience in dealing with the Right wing sleeze machine, a proven  record of defeating Republicans and the ability to attract moderate voters).

Did you notice how some Obama supporters are trying to pressure a host (who supports Hillary) off the air. I think that speaks volumes about the character of some of his supporters

Discuss?

I'm one of those "moderate" voters.  I've voted Republican longer than I've voted Democrat, and in a lot of ways I'm way more conservative than most people who dig TYT.  I have nothing to do with trying to pressure anyone off future hostings, nor do I bear any animosity for Hillary or for her supporters.

I simply believe Obama is the right person to apply some badly-needed healing to our nation after the horrific abuse of the past several years (and I include some Bill Clinton antics in that time frame).  I also don't believe Hillary is electable as President, or ever will be, because of the baggage that will remain obvious.  I'm a New Yorker, I voted for Hillary to be in her Senate seat, and I will continue to do so for as long as she continues to seek it.

That doesn't mean I believe the people who disagree with me are idiots--unless they support McCain right now.  Those people are complete morons and I make no apology for saying so.  If Hillary does win the nomination somehow--people tracking this take note--I will certainly vote for her this November because she is a far cry from the evil that four more years of a Bush Butt Buddy (as McCain is now styling himself) will do.  I simply fear she will lose to him, and that will be a tragedy for the nation.

If that makes me an Obamabot, if it's somehow a bad thing that Obama's speeches move me and make me long for a real leader who's got some real fire and believes in something larger than him/herself, well then tar and feather me with that foolish dreamer's brush and I'll wear it proudly.  I've been jaded and cynical for far too long, I really want a chance to feel something else about my "leaders."

I respect your opinion.

I don't agree with you over the electablility issue and as the campaign unfolds you will find that Obama too has baggage.

I don't hate Obama but don't buy into the rhetoric.

Should he win the nomination I to will support him.

He's finally getting some answers to one of his favorite burning questions, and he's off diddling some other thread.
