Inane Remarks from McCain on Iran Al Qaeda

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
McCain gave us another reason to believe that his administration will be nothng more than a continuation of the mindless bullshit that we have had for the past 7 + years witht Bush crime family. Admittedly, this reminder came from a somewhat unexpected direction.

According to McCain who has been heralded by the repubz as the only guy in this race with foreign relations credentials,  Al Qaeda is going back into Iran to get training  and then going back into Iraq.

The transcript of these remarks made in Amman today are included in the link below.

What can you say? This late in the game and he's making remarks like that? Un freakin believable.

According to the Washington Post blog Libermann wispered to him that he scewed it up and then he correted himself.

Same story, different report. McCain can't keep his Muslim bad guys straight any better than Poor Dumb George.

by MedfordTim on 03/18/2008 10:16:01 PM EST

Fortunately, the corporate media did not completely ignore this story about the GOP candidate, but I wish it had gotten the amount of play devoted to the unseemly details of former NJ Governor McGreevy's divorce.

We're only talking about the qualifications of the leader of the free world. It's not like his understanding of the Middle East is relevant. And the only salacious detail was Lieberman whispering in McCain's ear.

Now if some prominent Democrat had the good sense to stand up and ridicule the doddering old man, that might get the story a little extra attention. But then the media would just focus on how the desperate Dems are going negative on McCain.

So John McCain made a minor verbal error when he was jet-lagged in the Middle East and you guys want to make a big deal about it?

OK. Let me show you how this works.

We are holding our fire on this guy until you nominate him. Then the fun begins.

Think back to what we had on John Kerry. Nothing.

Now, think about Barack Obama. See you in September.

you'll disappear until September?

We should be so fortunate.

I was jet-lagged once.  I didn't forget how to do my job, though.  Defend him again, Ken.  For our entertainment.

Only a moron would say that McCains shockingly ignorant statement makes Obama a moron.

Think back to the last elections when the Democrats took both houses of congress.

McCain did not make this mistake only once. He also said exactly the same thing a day or two earlier on the Hugh Dimwitt radio show.

And why was Mac so jetlagged when Lieberman was not? Is your candidate showing his age? You know, he's trying to get a job that requires a lot of travel. Maybe he should step aside in favor of  someone young enough to handle it.

But thank you for the acknowlegment that the Republicans smeared John Kerry when they had nothing on him. Since the GOP will lie no matter what, does it really matter whether Obama has issues? How would being clean protect him from smears by your lying party?

I knew you supported a party of liars; I just didn't realize that you knew it too.

He was jet lagged all of those times.  It's so obvious.

I wouldn't expect a response to this though.  When Ken gets solidly proven wrong, he exits...  stage right even.

I'll give you a response. Sometimes politicians make mistakes during off the cuff remarks.

You explain this quote, and I'll be happy to reciprocate and explain the McCain quote.

This is your second chance to answer. So far, you've been as quiet as a little church mouse.

by KenTX on 03/20/2008 01:40:50 AM EST

That was an actual mistake, you know, like one of those "off the cuff" ones that you mentioned.  John McCain made his "mistake" over and over again.  Did Obama keep quoting the wrong death toll?

But, let me tell you, that was some damning evidence.  I'm voting for McCain now.

"Sometimes politicians make mistakes during off the cuff remarks."

And sometimes they lie, then claim an innocent mistake when they get caught.

Odd, how Republicans keep repeating the same error - bogus connections between al Queda and the target of the moment.  Isn't attention to detail of any importance to you people?

But you've admitted the right-wing lied when they repeatedly smeared Kerry. With that character defect in mind, McCain's thrice repeated lie about the bogus connection seems likely to be - another GOP lie.

Anyone who viewed the video can plainly see that McCain made a simple mistake, and then immediately corrected it. You're wasting your time, trying to make more out of it than that.

On the subject of campaign strategies, here's how you can tell if you have a good one: You win the election. Democrats have had a bad strategy in 7 out of the last ten elections.

See ya.

by KenTX on 03/20/2008 02:46:58 AM EST

[ Parent ]

Mistake?  He did it over and over again (and we've told you that over and over again).  Did he immediately correct it every time?

And sure the GOP is effective... at politics, and not governing.  They've got the smear thing down.  Now if they can just figure out this democracy deal they'll be golden.  Hmm...

You should have taken my advice and exited (stage extreme right even) because you are clearly out of legs to stand on.

by Spencer on 03/20/2008 02:53:50 AM EST

The insignificant McCain verbal mistake will have no legs during the general campaign.

Compare it with this Obama bright idea of invading an important ally in the War on Terror, against their will, While they are protesting, when they have nuclear warheads ready to launch.

"The insignificant McCain verbal mistake .  .  ."

You meant mistakes, didn't you?  He repeated the same lie on 4 (count 'em, 4) separate occasions.

You may be right that it won't matter. More than any other party in our history, the GOP depends upon people not paying attention.

But I'm surprised that it doesn't matter to you, Ken. Whether McCain is lying or repeatedly screwing up, an intelligent person has to question whether he really understands the complexities of the Middle East. McCain says he does; so does Bush. But is there any real evidence to support that belief?

No matter what the right wing jerk offs say about McCains strengths on Foreign Affairs it is really tough to defend this particularly after seeing the video. What the transcript dosen't show is the old fools certaintly about how everyone knows Al Qaeda is receiving traiing from Iran.

This YouTube video will be playing quite a bit between now and November.

Its funny I guess because of how pathetic he appears. Then Libermann had to remind him. Then he corrects himself. How pitiful. And this is his strength. This is his primary credential for being the leader of this country.

GOD SPARE THIS POOR NATION!!.

Consider how hard it is to surpass Bush in idiocy then this pathetic old jackass does it without even batting an eye. Wait to the grueling pace of a presidential election starts to take its toll on this guy. This is nothing. He will supply the American voters with plenty of reasons as to why he is incapable of handiling the job.
