The Media remains "objective" on McCain remarks in Iraq

The Title of the below article is disturbingly "fair" to McCain, and his recent startlingly ignorant comments on Iraq, al-Khaida, and Iran.  Notice the title is "Dems pounce on McCain..." rather than "McCain Clueless about Iraq" or "McCain another Bush? How could he be so clueless" or any other variation on McCain's hugely misinformed and outright comical (yet sad and maddening) "slip" on al-Khaida beeing trained in Iran. Read on in the article and you will still see no critisizm of McCain over his comments, it truely is only about everything BUT how dissapointing and terrible this candidate's knowledge on the war is. Does it not bother the author at all that this man may be the next "commander and cheif" and does the author not find it at all necessary to inform his readers and emphasize the REAL issue here, rather than the "Dems pouncing." How can we elect a president that can't even bother to do his homework (I know, its happened twice, it could happen again)? Or is he just getting old and forgetful, but this isn't an excuse either... I'm so bitter, this isn't a light matter, or minor slip-up, its a serious error and lack of information that is basic in issues surrounding Iraq.

They did, after all, get killed when they went after him for being corrupt.  They had a good case, too, but they really screwed it up.

Still, they could have lit into him with this one, but they held back.  They're not serving their readers if they leave room to think McCain might be competent.

If he doesn't understand the relationships in the Middle East at this late date, he's too old to start learning new tricks now.

He's either not paying intention/is incompetent OR he's just too God damn old, which led him to be confused and say the wrong thing.

Neither scenario is desirable for a potential president.

Was the McCain story a screw up? Did they trump up the affair angle to sell papers. Or did the trump up the affair to take attention away from the (real) corruption story.

The news media seems to have developed a habit of screwing up negative storys concerning Pubs, don't you think.

Remember the Bush National Guard story, remember how the right wing blogs "knew" (within hours) that those documents were forgeries? (despite the fact that documents released from the Bush administration have the same "markings" on them)

I think we can all agree the Corporate media cannot be trusted.

And seems to be ignorant of the subject. He was just as adept when asked a question about interest rates.

My first reaction was relief at a focus on one of McCain's many reasons he's unfit for office, rather than on the Dem candidates chewing on each other.

That someone had leaned and whispered in Junior's ear in 2002:   "Psssst!  George, Saddam Hussein and Al Qaida hate each other, you twit."

Well, maybe it would be more constructive to leave the "you twit" part out.
