Jack Van Impe

Just caught Wes' mention of the Jack Van Impe show (watching on the loop).

Man do I have issues with some of Wes' points on race today, but a post on that would turn into another novel. As far as the Jack Van Impe show goes- It. is. AWESOME.

I regularly watch it for comic relief. I know its not intentionally funny, but sometimes I wonder. Maybe there's a producer who gets that it is ridiculous or something, I don't know.

Since there seem to be a large number of Chicago-area residents on TYT, check it out late night on WGN. Usually on the weekends, it's probably on the superstation too. Every show they just cut and paste whatever the most recent headlines are and put them into their presentation of why the END TIMES are here. His wife just fawns the whole time with this scary-fake voice and keeps saying "oh, wow!"

Even better, he's a conspiracy nut to the nth degree. He will find a way to link the END TIMES signs with every conspiracy that's ever been put forth, from Freemasons to JFK to the liberal media to aliens. Aliens! The best part, though, is when they promote his book in between the "news" segments. Terrifying proclamations about the END TIMES are made in a movie-guy type of voice while this cheesy/ominous music plays in the background.

If you want some laughs and don't want to watch the whole show search "Jack Van Impe" on YouTube or see on of these particularly amusing clips:

If only we could find a connection between him and McCain we could run ads of nothing but the show with McCain's picture giving a thumbs-up in the corner. If you watch the whole show a couple of times I think you'll agree that he could alienate all of the normal Repub targets, from the racists to the evangelicals to the blind patriotism crowd.

That there are people who whole-heartedly believe them is frightening; however, they are terribly amusing.

And I can laugh at their craziness, comfortable in the knowledge that I am protected by the noodly appendage of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
