What was racist about Rev. Wright's sermon?
I know we've had some heated discussions on race in the past and wil probably have more in the future, but honestly, I am trying to figure out, what did Rev. Jeremiah Wright say that was racist?
The parts about 9/11 and God Damn America and the history of slavery and endemic racism are what I know about. Anyone hear anything professing hatred for white Americans? Anything with a historically violent and racist connotation? (outside RW hysteria about anything dealing with criticizing the Right) Anything remotely close to racism?
If not, why did Pat Buchanan call him an "afro-Racist"? Why did Obama allow Wright to be called a racist?
This stuff is disgusting; people like Buchanan are 'patriots' and 'pundits' when they say the 50s were just fucking swell for Negros and that the days when America was around 90% white, well those were the days, but Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a racist for...what? Preaching so-called "Black liberation theology"? Do his critics even know what that means? Does anyone here know? Am I the only one enraged by this rank hypocrisy?
