Clinton mining story correction

If you like this story,
digg it!
This is an important correction to a story that appeared in the
NY Times in January claiming that Bill Clinton did favours for a Canadian uranium mining mogul, Frank Giustra. Mediamatters posted the correction but it hasn't appeared in any other outlets!
Yes, Fmr. President Bill Clinton was in Canada Saturday night to speak about his Foundation's partnership with Frank Giustra, the mining executive.
Although the NY Times published their piece about this relationship in January, I noticed that almost nobody has posted Mr. Giustra's response or the Canadian Media's response. The fact is that Mr. Giustra's business in Kazakhstan predates his relationship with Pres.Clinton by over a decade, i.e. he did not "need" the former President to seal a big deal in the Central Asian country. This correction has not appeared in any of the US press accounts.
Media Matters did an excellent job last month of summarizing the Canadian press' accounting of Giustra's pre-Clinton success in Kazakhstan.
And, for what it's worth, Mr. Giustra's response can be found summarized in the Vancouver Sun.
Just wanted to post this, as Richard Wolffe referred to it in his discussion with Cenk, a few minutes ago.
