Listening to RFK jr. on Ring of Fire this saturday sharpened into focus something that had been nibbling at the edge of my consciousness.
He very sharply rebuked the 'democratic candidates' for their unseemly behavior toward each other. It was short but it was HARSH. And I thought 'dude, OBAMA didn't do anything to warrant such words, HILLARY did'. and then I remembered RFK jr. was on the Hillary side of the Kennedy family. This was blatantly dishonest on Robert Kennedys part as he certainly know the facts of the situation. He compormised his integrity and honesty in a partisan attack. Most unbecoming.
And upon consideration, i realized this was very common among democratic leaders and in democratic media. Nancy Pelosi, for example, very recently chiding both candidates to 'tone it down'.
This is exactly what happens in the MSM in a democrat vs. republican scenario. BOTH camps are blamed even when it is only ONE of them doing 95% of the 'bad'. That ONE, of course, nearly always the republicans. It is the msm being 'fair and balanced' instead of objective.
So it is with Obama and Hillary. SHE does all the dirty work, lies and distortions, bad acting, gutter fighting, and Obama gets dragged into a LITTLE bit of necessary defensive action but they BOTH end up being tarred with the same brush by DEMOCRATS.
And that is JUST NOT RIGHT. Hillary is totally aware of and taking advantage of this to influence those democrats just tuned in enough to what's happening to be influenced by the democratic talking heads and msm soundbites from the leadership and come away with the impression both Obama and Hillary are equally wallowing in the mud.
The democrats engaged in this little trick of being 'fair and balanced' instead of HONESTLY OBJECTIVE need to be called on it. It stinks to high heaven and only reinforces the tendency to use the Rovian tactics Hillary has been using.
That drive for honest objectivity is, after all, what we all love about Cenk. I don't always agree with him but I RESPECT him for that drive for honest differentiated objectivity. And clean willingness to own up when he is proved wrong. Were it only that all were so.
