The seeds of discontent have been planted and are taking root - Reverend Wright, inexperience and now bitter angry white xenophobes and Snobbishness - dont you see the pattern here?

It doesnt matter if its true or not - it matters that its there, and the media can make a story of it, and that those stories will plant a seed of doubt into the minds of the voters...

I cant wait to see what comes up after Obama gets the nomination... Its gonna get really nasty then!!!

If this is true you are missing the point.  The primary then isn't about finding the candidate with nothing negative on him, its finding the candidate it won't stick to.

According to you the media is gonna make mountains out of molehills about whoever the dems run.  Running scared from someone as soon as they take a poke at him (or her) is playing right into their hands.

The opposite is true for the GOP.  They can apparently run, cokeheads, drunk drivers, warmongers, crooked mysogynist (sp?), racist Senators who know nothing about the wars we are in or the economy and they aren't going to say shit about it.

If what you are saying is true, lets all take a deep breath and see how teflon Obama is.  Is he (Bill) Clinton or Hart.  

But don't pretend there is a dem candidate they are not going to exaggerate or lie about.  Imagine if we ran Jesus.  They would rip him to shreds.

The CNN clip that ihavenobias keeps posting is very good. You'll never see that mentioned on The Young Turks though; it doesn't fit the message that the media has a right wing bias.

Actaully Dave, I emailed it to him, so of COURSE he'll mention it.  ;)

PS---For the record, I think overall (aside from Fox and specific show hosts like Glenn Beck, Scarborough, etc.) most of the media isn't conservatively biased, but rather, it's ratings biased.  And they are so fearful of being viewed as liberal that they tend to go out of their way to NOT be liberal, which often puts them right of center in many indirect and often subtle ways that add up.

Plus, large corporations with interlocking boards of trustees tend to hire editors and upper level types who are conserative (at least fiscally), even if the anchors/hosts themselves might be liberal in their personal lives.

The simple answer or the complicated answer?

I think the simple answer will suffice -

McCain is old and a war hero, so to the media he is beyond this kind of reproach... Remember, they like him and hes a good guy to them (even if we know different:)

Obama is young and inexperienced and Black - They need to generate stuff about him (good or bad) because they dont have anything else to go on... basically, they were ready for Hillary and are somewhat scrambling to generate newsworthy stories on Obama...
 
Remember, the media is there for one purpose - to make revenue for their advertisers - they are not there for truth - that is one of the liberals fatal flaws - believing in a truth based media... What sells more, bias? Old geriatric Veteran is evil, or young ambitious black man is secretly an elitist Muslim who will bring armegeddon if elected? You tell me which is gonna sell more and generate viewership...

Plus, Obama is the odds on favortie to win it all still at this point - we always go after the guy on top, its our very human nature to do so...

If you admit outright that the media is there for its own gain, then you shouldnt give a shit about if they are lying or not. But guarenteed when they say something that affects your guy, its - THEY"RE LYING!!! WHY DONT THEY SAY THE TRUTH!!! (and in the crybaby sound effects here)...

The media is supposed to tell the truth.  They are given special protection in law and even in the Constitution because they are supposed to tell the truth.  They can be sued (theorhetically) for not telling the truth.  The fact that all this escapes you speaks volumes about your understanding of basic Jeffersonian democracy.

We all know they don't tell the truth and are driven by money.  But not the way you claim.  If that were the case why would all these conservative news outlets keep running at huge losses (Washington Times?).

Also, I don't cry about what the media says.  I may say its stupid and meaningless but I don't whine about it.  You got the wrong guy.

And finally we are back to everyone else's opinion is worthless but bobo's should be revered.  If you want anyone to take your opinion seriously, bobo, back it up with relevant facts are solid analysis.  If you keep postng your opinions that have no basis in anything I am gonna keep posting my opinion that you have no idea what you are talking about.  Deal?
