Cenk Just Fainted...

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
I'm watching the debate between Hillary and Obama and Obama just said something that I KNOW made Cenk like Obama 1,257.3% more...

So what did Obama say?

He said (paraphrase) that George Bush Sr. had some really excellent foreign policy that was much better than his son's.

Come on, what are the odds?  What could he have said to make Cenk happier than that?  (Maybe only that he wants to appoint a Turkish talk show host to his cabinet ASAP?)

Here in CA, the debate hasn't even aired on TV yet, so nobody knows anything about it, and Cenk is conscious as far as I know.

You better tell Wendy to get over there and tell him to watch it lying down just to be safe. ;)

I'm only about an hour in, but it's been obnoxious so far.  ALL of the questions for the first 45 minutes were about supposed "gaffes".  Hillary has even named a few that I hadn't heard of yet.

Obama's answer to the "bitter-gate" question was perfect though.

I missed some of the first half, but yes, it was mostly about BS (gaffes, etc.).

Hillary's lowest moment was brining up Farrakhan and the Weather Underground guy (which is something fueled by Sean Hannity by the way).

Obama didn't have his best night, but considering he was ganged up on and on defense (he is the front runner after all), he was solid.  His best moment IMO was how he responded to the Hillary sniper fire question.

Right after Hillary displayed more pathetic GOP style tactics (the whole Farrakhan thing, etc.), Obama took the high road and said that both he and Hillary and have misspoken at times and that it happens, etc. That made Hillary look like even more of a (fill in the blank with negative word or phrase of choice) for her reaction to Wright, the bitter comments and so on.

When I say he was "ganged up on", I'm referring to Hillary *and* the moderators.  They moderators were pretty awful.

Supposedly the media goes easy on Obama? Yeah right.

Wow, did they ever gang up on him.  Charlie Gibson was looking like Brit Hume.  That first hour was unbearable, watching them rehash all of the fake issues that have already been addressed.  The second half was better, but they still seemed to have it out for him (IMO, I'm pretty biased though), even though he was right on the vast majority of the issues (the Iran nuke thing is still a little off for me).  Apparently Obama's free pass in the media has expired.

Did you notice Hillary throwing out Wesley Clark's name?  She's either picking him for veep, or she's trying to squash those rumors of him jumping ship to Obama.

and was annoyed by it.

While there were many bad/disappointing moments, the worst might have been that f*ng idiot dope that asked the flag pin question.

My God, if you could ask these candidates ONE question, ANY question you wanted, could you even imagine the 'flag pin' being on the top 1 million list?  It's truly pathetic, and anyone that would even care about his answer is also pathetic.

Healthcare, education, crime, war, bankruptcy, housing, interest rates, wages, the environment, trade and the list of relevant issues goes on and on (and on).  I know I shouldn't be surprised but I am still disgusted.

You guys reaffirmed my decision to skip even watching it.  I saw some comments before I turned it on and decided it wouldn't be worth it.  I'll see clips.  What it does confirm is that the only place to get real information is the internet.  I can't believe they asked about the flag pin <gag>

The flag pin thing is totally ridiculous.  Especially when she could have asked something important, like why he doesn't put his hand on his heart for the pledge.  I would have phrased it "Hey swarthy, why do you hate America?"

I only had a chance to watch some of the first half and was completely annoyed with Stephanopoulos and Gibson.  For now all give deWolf with the Robin Hood glasses a pass since we have the same birthday, but I’ll try to figure out why Stephanopoulos gets under my skin.  Is it just me or does anyone else get that disgusted feeling when watching George like you’re watching Tom Cruise speak?  He definitely seemed like he had an axe to grind with Obama, especially when he brought up his connection with Ayer from the Weather Underground.  Does this guy just not get it or is something bigger going on?

Anyway, for the record if it hasn’t been mentioned already, Ayer’s interview in the New York Times on 9/11 wasn’t planned, but merely was a coincidence, unless of course Ayer is a twisted psychic mastermind.  The only thing more shady than George’s questions was hearing Hillary’s heart-wrenching/manipulativ e response.  Do I really need to go into George’s history with the Clintons (i.e. press secretary/advisor/loyalist to Clinton…member of the Bilderberg Group)?  For now I’ll just give Clinton and the moderators a good scooping of lame shame.
