Yes, I enjoy hyperbole. But trust me, Cenk will have a lot to say about McCain's outrageous statement earlier today...

McCain literally said that cutting taxes is more important than balancing the budget.
Should be an entertaining show.
You've all read this 100 times before, but I need to say it again:
Just 3 Republican presidents are responsible for over 70% of the national debt. Ronald Reagan borrowed more money than all presidents before him, from George Washington to Jimmy Carter, combined.
Now Bush has borrowed more than Reagan. And we spend hundreds of billions on *interest* payments on this debt. Sure, we should be mad that we each flushed about $600 a piece down the toilet on taxes for Iraq (more like debt for Iraq), but how much of our tax dollars went to interest payments on Republican fiscal irresponsbility?
Ultimately, we'll need to raises taxes MORE just to maintain the same services because a higher and higher percentage of our taxes will go towards debt for things that no longer benefit us, *if* they ever did.
PS---This is where (fill in the blank conservative idiot) jumps in to say we'd be fine if we cut entitlement programs. Right, because (as Cenk pointed out last week) that 1% of the federal budget we spend on welfare would make up for the massive tax cuts we've had under recent Republican presidents (sarcasm meter shoulda gone off there)
