Texas sinkhole: metaphor for Bush administration

As the worst presidential adminstration in US history comes to a close,  the Great Texas Sinkhole of 2008 opens up sucking in everything in its circumference; a perfect metaphor for this HOUSE OF USHER-like Bush administration. 

This YouTube video shows the CNN coverage of the sinkhole caving in and swallowing oil pumping equipment in what is probably the result of regulation violations as described in this Houston Chronicle story:

DAISETTA, Texas — A company that sits near the edge of a massive sinkhole in Southeast Texas has been accused of violating permits for disposal of saltwater, which some geologists suggest may have caused the crater.

However, officials with the Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates such permits, stressed Friday that the cause of the sinkhole has not been determined.

the skyscraping pigshit guyser.

Although originally intended to describe the Bush administration's relationship to the environment, the metaphor was authored before some of the worst policy failures including Katrina. I think it describes the bush legacy quite well. God Bless Al Franken.
