Obama has no choice but to ask Hillary "The Terminator" to be VP.

Obama has to do it. Demographic reality. But, just as in the second Terminator movie, where they reprogrammed Arnie so he was a "good" terminator, maybe we could do the same thing with Hillary.

I hate to say it, but Obama has absolutely no choice but to ask Hillary to be Vice President on the ticket. Seriously, Obama has no choice on this, the demographics prove that.

I don't like it, not at all, but its reality. There has to be a "fusion" ticket. Hillary has way too many supporters. Yeah, hard-core racists who only voted for her West Virginia and PA to stop a black man from becoming President, sure, they won't vote for Obama no matter what. But Hillary has a huge number of women supporters and older Americans that frankly, Obama needs to help win in the Fall.

Look, Kennedy had to do the exact same thing in 1960, he was the progressive candidate, and he had no choice in a close election but to put the "party stalwart" Lyndon Johnson on the ticket with him, eventhough they had great personal animosity and rather large differences.

I said a couple days ago, Hillary is the TERMINATOR, Unit HRC-2008, and that, like a machine, she will not stop. Thats true. But maybe we could change her programming.

Well, just like in the second Terminator movie, "Judgement Day"(1991), where they reprogrammed Arnie to help humanity, maybe we can REPROGRAM the Hillary Terminator Unit, get it to work for the unity of the Democratic Party, a and shared agenda, against the the anti-humanity robot, the liquid metal cop robot that is John McCain.

John McCain can just turn into liquid steel when you attack him, and then reassemble himself, and he's a "cop", so he has the guise of being an authority figure. So we will need a Terminator Unit of our own to help fight him off!

So, we reprogram Hillary to work for the people instead for just herself and Bill, to be nice to Obama and our campaign and not attack us, but attack the Republicans instead. And, once she is in the VP slot, we change her stump speech from "solutions", to:

"Change for America through bold solutions for the people". Yeah, see, that works, it incorporates some of her programming with Obama's main theme. "Change" and "Solutions"; that way she won't have any memory errors and her CPU won't overheat.

:)

I don't think she will end up being VP, even if he *has* to ask.  I think after the last primary, she will exit from the race gracefully and wholeheartedly back Obama.  Wishful thinking?  Maybe, but although Hillary has disappointed me in this campaign, I still believe she is smart and wants the dems to bury the repubs this fall.

Or should I say you agree.

Nice to see people read my posts.

Dan Abrams keeps trying to beat this "Hillary must be VP drum" and I'm already tired of it.

She, like any other potential VP nominee, has pros and cons.  And while she has some strong pros, she also has some strong cons (including but not limited to an insanely high negative rating and an uncanny ability to mobilize a defeated and demoralized Republican base that's not thrilled with McCain).

The End

I get the feeling that there's no way in hell Hillary would settle for a second place slot to Obama.  I could be dead wrong, but I just don't see it.  That would require her to swallow a LOT of pride, and I don't think she has the throat.

comes Bill. It would be a total nightmare having those two in the VP position.

Tarheel...from another tarheel, I think I ought to reassure you that this VP Clinton notion will pass. And here's why I think so...

1. All those HRC supporters who said they would not vote for Obama are just pouting for the present. Some will come around and some will vote for McCain because that's who they were going to vote for anyway.

2. The older women who supported HRC mostly because she is a woman will not vote for someone who called his wife a c**t, once this story is more widely circulated. Also, once they remember that McCain will have the potential to ruin hard-won women's reproductive rights by appointing more supreme court justices, they will vote against him.

3. The Righties plan to frame Obama as weak and inexperienced, especially in military matters. So he is simply going to have to pick someone with some serious military cred. Much more cred than Hillary Clinton, no matter how many generals she marches in front of the cameras. The Republicans will eat her alive on this issue. That's why I keep harping on Jim Webb as a VP choice. All he'll have to do is don his son's combat boots again and they'll shut up.

But what about the things Webb has said regarding women in combat?  That might piss off those old women that you mentioned.

Also, I don't think trollop-gate will get much media play.  Whether it's true or not, it will be played off as tabloid smear journalism, and the media doesn't like to "hit below the belt" when it comes to Republicans.

I agree with your HRC assessment.  There is no chance she will be the vp.  But, I don't think it will be Webb.  He's another senator, and I don't think he would want the job.  He seems to have an agenda for the senate that's pretty important to him.  Also, I don't think we can afford to give up a freshly won VA senate seat like that.  I think Wes Clark would be a better choice in the same mold as Webb.

Not wanting the job but...

As speaker Pro Tem of the Senate he would have quite a bit of power to push his agenda there

And

Tim Kain is the Democrat governor of Va and would obviously appoint a Dem to replace Webb so no loss if a seat there.

I would say fine  but there are much better choices.

Senator Russ Feingold for VP!
