Republicans think Dems can not win without Jewish Vote

I believe that Bush's comments in Isreal regarding Obama is new code language aimed to strike fear in the US jewish population.

Republicans want the American Jewish population which historically votes democratic to fear Obama.  More and more we will see right wing news outlets and right wing talking heads come out to discuss Obama's LOVE of muslims and Palestians.  Another example of this is the current right wing stance of "how dare Obama talk to Hamas???"  Republicans are trying to frame Obama as a President who will jeopardize Isreal's position in the world and/or strengthen the Palestian's political power.  Obama's team is countering this well so far, but the jewish/Isreal attack is subtle, continually and not likely to end any time soon.

And who is supporting Bush on his comments in Isreal?  Joe Lieberman, of course.

Where have you been for the last 20 years? The Republicans have been encroaching since Reagan and went to Repub full force with Bush. The Ultra Right Wing has the power in Israel, and they walk hand in hand with the Neo Cons.

That's why it's so important to give the rational Jewish people their voice BACK, louder and prouder than ever. The PAC money comes in from the war mongers, though.

Actually, I don't think they have attacked Obama on "soft middle east policy" any harder than past candidates. What I'm hoping is he'll say, "Enough!" a lot sooner and derail that train.

They don't bring enough votes to swing any state, except for FL. Its the Jewish money and leadership. Jews are the smartest, richest and whitest white people in the world. The GOP wants people like Kristol, Libby, Wolfowicz, Krauthammer running the party and the country. What do you think a "neocon" is? Look it up (I'm on my bb). Without Jews, the Democrat Party would implode.

I agree! These powerful rich neos you mentioned have been the voices listened to for far too long and it's time to get the message across to those grannys in FLA that they do not now nor have they EVER had Israel's best interest at heart - just their own poetfolios.

Now, who would be a good person to bring a message of change to the good Jewish voters of Florida...

Ken, just because someone is circumcised...

Other than that, you did a good job of listing the same old tired voices who need to become part of the solution instead of the problem. These are the friends of Hagee, the one who would see Israel enveloped in THE war.

And you ain't ready to listen to some different ideas yet?

How long before you figure out what we're doin' ain't workin'? And you want to offer up the same ol' same ol'? Keep listening to them and you'll be invading Iran in Sherman Tanks.

But, you know me - I'll be happy to work with you on this. Gather up all of these "candidates" of yours and bring 'em on down to Florida! Stop by Mr. Fred's and ask for directions to the southernmost Key. Go there, let them talk all they want (it's a designated Free Speech Zone) and we'll get back to you, oh, say, Thanksgiving?

Glad to be of help. (emoticon here)

Beat a dead horse? The mind of a dogmatic Republican is like some totalitarian regime, a la Juche North Korea styles. KenTX, and his ilk could tell reality from a hole in the wall, or Alice in Wonderland.

Rednecks love them some Jews.

See

Those are the same rednecks that will kick you canook (sp) ass.

Anyway, there are social/ethnic groups that are waaay scarier  in the US than rednecks. Unless you are on a rafting/hunting trip in the middle of nowhere (sorry Rich).

We could take Rich on a canoe trip down the Nanthahala River. That's where they filmed Deliverence and held the 1996 Olympic kayaking events. He could slap some rednecks.

I remember correctly, Nick the canook (sp) was the one who wanted to do the slapping. However, he would probably blend right in with his mullet (sorry Rich and Nick).

I get Rich and Nick confused. That's not a compliment for either guy.

The folks in Deliverance weren't rednecks.

They were coonasses.  Totally different.  Related to Canadians actually.  Ken is from Houston and should know better.  Coonasses are way more backwards and scary than rednecks.  Rednecks have joined the real world, sorta, by way of dominating the oil and cattle industries.  Coonasses are still essentially aboriginal.  You may have meant Nick but no Coonass canoe trips for me either.  Although I could wear some LSU gear or a Favre jersey and keep em at bay.

because it drives him nuts.

Deliverance was filmed on the Nantahala River, and the movie was about North Georgia hillbillies, not Louisiana coonasses.

Since I've lived in the North Georgia mountains and the bayous of Louisiana, I certainly know the difference between the two people.

Now whether the book on which the film was based had something to do with coonasses, I don't know. Everyone knows I don't read.

I have not gone to the newly electrified parts of the US for a reason, why waste my money when those people want to leave but can't. I've been to the US and I'd really rather NOT.

There was an interesting analysis on this, I am not sure where I heard this (might have even been TYT). But, they  were arguing that yes the Jewish vote is being targeted by the GOP, but that the real constituency that was being targeted with this speech was the evangelical movement who is more pro-Israel than the American Jewish community. If McShame can tag his name along with the Hamas-loving Obama bit, then he might begin to rally the evangelical voters around him, as we have seen, he has not been able to do so.

Jewish voters, have reason, and not all are supportive of Israel. They are interested in their taxes, war in Iraq, their children's future, and Jewish voters tend to agree with Democrats in this respect. This isn't to say that we should take the Jewish vote for granted, but Jews in general will not vote for the GOP en masse. I believe that the real target are the more irrational evangelical vote. Israel has become the third rail of American politics.

and I almost noted that in my original post, but I am  confused because NO Talking HEAD - left or right - is talking about it.  Seems to me, if it were so obvious, some one besides me would run with it and point this out.
