The jist of it is that Hillary is staying in the race until the end of the primaries is in order to RAISE MONEY. She has $20 M in debt and once she leaves the race officially, she can no longer FUND-RAISE. In ordeer to try to re-coup any of the money, she has to keep her DEVOTEES stoked. She can't HINT to them that she might drop out. She can't even give them the impression that she might LOSE (contrary to math, logic, reality). Who would give money to a campaign that wasn't going to win.
Basically she has two weeks not to recoup anything she's going to. The big wins she got from WV and probably will get from KY are the only opportunities she has to get anymore money. After the contests are finished, the Math will be overwhelming and campaigning will be futile, especially since it will COST her more to Campaign after June 6 than she can RAISE.
She WON'T take it to the Convention. She's NOT insane. But she can't let that on or her contributers will quit.
Nothing so far I've said strays far from what Cenk has said. But Randi's point beyond this is to point out the hideous financial MODEL of the Hillary Campaign, just another thing to throw onto the "Why Hillary Lost" pile.
And Randi compares Hillary's financial model to Air America's financial model and how BOTH have been so unsuccessful, where both SHOULD have been successful. In a nutshell, it's Bad Debt chasing Good Debt.
Hillary got a lot of money up front for her campaign from a lot of corporate interests. She thought she had it in the bag, so she overspent herself when Obama started beating her. Now she has to PAY OFF big-name creditors and the only way to do so is to create a fanatical BASE from whom she can suck off a few buck in order to pay off this week's expenses.
And Rabdi knows the exact same thing was happening at Air America. God Bless Cenk for putting all the "Little People" on-Air and on-Camera every show. But at AAR, you KNOW for every show, there are the same people working behind the scenes, working the Phones, booking the Guests, working the e-mail, cleaning the office, preparing the Blue Cards, producing and engineering the show so that it can go on the air.
When Air America falls behind financially, it's not the INVESTORS that suffer, not the On-Air "Talent." It's THESE PEOPLE. Every pay day they have to wonder IF their paycheck is GOING to come or if they have to "suck it up" another week or two.
That's what Randi knows is happening with the Hillary campaign. They have no idea if they will be paid this week or have to sleep on other supporter's couches and eat Ramen Noodles all damn week.
The NERVE of Hillary's WV "Sermon on the I Have a DreamsBurg Address." That Charleston Convention Center had to be paid for with HARD CASH up front, plus all the damn confetti. Plus half of the "home-made" signs waving behind her that had to be made by staffers. And the chance that all that staff that had to arrange the center and load the confetti and balloons get all the people to that rally. And clean up all that stuff.
You think they have a chance in HELL of getting paid for that?
