This is a really eye-opening video about the integration of protestant evangelical proto-fascist Christia nity has taken over the American military. I think the most potent part of the video was at the end when you saw the picture of the Islamic terrorist holding a gun and a Qu'ran and American soldiers holding a gun and a Bible. 

This makes me wonder, as well as you I would imagine; what does it mean that when the military industrial complex is evangelical and in charge of the most potent military machine in the world? Was Iraq also fought for religious reason as well as profitable reasons? I think there is a lack of real analysis on the subject of the evangelicalization of the American body politic, especially since Bush took power. 

What really scares me about all this is that Christianity (I am a Catholic) the way the Baptists teach it, is very reminiscent of Soviet communism and Nazi fascism in the sense that it offers you an explanation for everything and there is no need for critical thought because there is a objective force of history by which all can be interpreted with. The only thing missing is a charismatic leader who is powerful enough to become dictator, and this is possible in the United States if the amendment on presidential term limits is eliminated. America really scares me to be honest.

Little Georgy talks to the Baby Jesus, Which is fine. The troubling part is that Georgy believes the Baby Jesus talks back and the Baby Jesus told him to "go kill me some Muslims, don't let faggots get married". 

Well maybe that's not exactly what Baby Jesus said but according to Palestinian foreign minister Nabil Shaath Georgy did say  "God would tell me, ‘George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan’, and I did, and then God would tell me, ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq’, and I did."  Of course the White House says it's all a lie, but we do know that George when asked by Bob Woodward if he consulted his father on the invasion said his earthly father was "the wrong father to appeal to for advice ... there is a higher father that I appeal to". Now taken in context does the first quote actually sound that unreasonable?

It is no mystery to me how the US seems to work, a fusion of unrestrained greed coupled with a moral mission to absolve the top from their own selfish desires and deeds. A mass of loyal Republicans who uncritically, or opportunistically use religion to undermine both humanism from a moral standpoint, and egalitarianism from a economic front. To create a society premised on the notion of a "Christian nation" where the greatest injustices can be wrought on the population in name of defending not only the nation, but "Western civilization" and Christ. To create a nation of "God warriors" who, through right-wing indoctrination otherwise known as fascism, to "defend" through offensive wars the interests of capital in the name of "civilization". It becomes dangerous when those in power start to believe their own propaganda. 


There have been examples before, Imperial Japan is an example of the fusion of the "holy mission", and to transform the world society under the tutelage of fanatical militarism and religiosity. The only thing that is preventing this from happening in the United States is whatever is left of American democracy, and the constitution.
