The Young Turks

So Hagee is at it again, ranting about how modern America is a place of sin and debauchery. He went on his rant about those who were born before 1945, as if this was the last great generation of Americans. I find it so amazing how anyone can laude, and propagate about an America that, prior to 1945, systematically instituted apartheid in half the country, interned over 100,000 Japanese into concentration camps, made millions of Americans so poor that they did not receive the basic caloric intake, an America that would do the Tuskegee experiments on innocent black men, an America that almost succumbed to a fascist dictatorship in 1933, the America of robber baron capitalism, an America that forced immigrants to change their last name to make it pronounceable, an America that engaged in eugenics before the Nazi's and who the Nazi's copied. This is the great pre-1945 America this a***hole is talking about? While his indoctrinated, neo-fascist minions may uncritically appauld the absurdity of this bigots words, I hope most American's recognize the progress that American society has made since 1945.
