I had "Jedi" as my religion on Facebook for a long time.

Go ahead.  Gimme the pitch.

Dude, its a religion from a movie. Really, I'm curious, do these guys go around with lightsabers and such?

Or better;

Mind control. "You dont need to see my Identification."

says an underage dude while buying beer. Really cool eh?

It's not really based on the movie, or at least not the mythology of the movie.  It's more based around the philosophy of the Jedi and the force and all that, which is pretty general and decent stuff.  It's kinda sorta like Buddhism, but with more lightsabers, and who among us doesn't want that?

If you could work in the Leia/Return of the Jedi metal bikini that would be a plus.

I am not picky about these orgies taking place inside or outside the temple.

Buddhism is a very complex philosophy, consisting of many schools of thought, and ways of living life, and of thinking, so the Jedi religion, being somewhat new, cant really be compared to buddhism. not just being new, it is a ripoff of the movie.

We have religious and mental practices like-wise to Buddhism. We are relatively close to it, but we arm ourselves with Japanese jujitsu, taijutsu and weapon combat. (At least I do.)

We believe that we do not really die, we believe that we go along with the Force, which is all living things. Which is relative to reality, where our mass and body decays into the Earth to become one with it.

But one of the central tenets of Buddhism is to do no harm, so that pretty much destroys the similarity.  But hey, I'm all for freedom of religion, so Yoda bless.

I'm not at all opposed to setting up a jedi order; I think the plan deserves consideration. My only question is who put you in charge?

Give me a lightsabre and I'd go General Grievous on most people(ignore the fact that GG got his butt handed to him by Obi Wan).

Leadership is between many churches, but I believe that we all need to stand together, or die seperate.

I am clearly a stronge person, but also compassionate. I am skilled with the lightsaber, as well as martial combat.
