A while back the blogger who shall remain nameless attemped to spin off the leaks of material in the McClellan book as figment of your imagination.

Remember how much fun you liberals had with the Scott McClellan story?Well, according to his publisher, this is just another figment of your imagination.

One more in a long line of phony scandals.

He conveniently provided a reference that as it turns out confirms what we already know. Unfortunately for the blogger who shall remain nameless, the quote was about the White House, FoxNews Rightwing spin machine. ( The items in brackets are my commentary.)

 

Scott McClellan is writing a responsible book about his moment in history.

Much of our popular media, including some leading brand names, apparently shoot first and ask later. The blogosphere and cable news right wing operate in a universe of their own in which frenzy and vituperation ( that means,mean spirited, like you blogger who shall remain nameless )  are the major currency.

As for the known perpetrators of the Plame leak, whatever they may have done to McClellan and the pursuit of truth, they seem to have gotten away with it. Karl Rove is now a contributing columnist for Newsweek and is getting a substantial book contract. Libby was convicted of perjury but excused from jail time by President Bush.

Dana Perino, the current White House press secretary, said Bush was "surprised" by McClellan's assertions. "He is puzzled, and he doesn't recognize this as the Scott McClellan that he hired and confided in and worked with for so many years," Perino said, adding that the president was "disappointed that if he had these concerns and these thoughts, he never came to him or anyone else on the staff." SEE Scott is mentally ill! Scott is gay!

 For him to do this now strikes me as self-serving, disingenuous and unprofessional," Fran Townsend, former head of the White House's counterterrorism office, told CNN. Scott is a disgruntled employee!

Former top Bush aide Karl Rove compared McClellan to a "left-wing blogger.""If he had these moral qualms," Rove told Fox News Channel, "he should have spoken up about them." Scott is a partisan hack! Liberal!
