Guess who is cosponsoring Kucinich's impeachment resolution?

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit

"Stalwart liberal Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) became the first member of Congress to co-sponsor Rep. Dennis Kucinich's resolution calling for President Bush's impeachment." - Impeachment resolution gains co-sponsor

Obama needs a little liberalizin'. Wexler for VP.

BTW, Ron Paul didn't get a slot to speak at the Repub convention, so he's having his OWN convention. Is he the Ralph Nader of Republicans?

example of why I'm fully on board with your Wexler as veep idea.  Thanks for the links (especially that last one).

I suspect this will actually make him less likely to be a VP candidate.  Us crazy libs (and people who respect the Constitution) love it, but the media...?  Not so much.  Now he'll be a "fringe" character to them.

I don't expect miracles but I DO wish one of the talking heads would include him on their list. Compared to the corpses they're trying to dig up? Feh!

On the impeachment front, hell - I know it won;t go anywhere, but lemme tell ya. I am listening to the clerk read them into the record as I type this and I'm having another Michelle Obama moment. Kucinich may be marginalized, and I of all people understand why, but I am proud of him for standing up for America and all Americans whether they appreciate it or not. It's been the right thing to do since 2002...

Jerry Springer just now on Dan Abrams. Dan briefly raised the topic of Kucinich/impeachment and quickly turned to Jerry for a 10 second response because he was the Democrat present.

Jerry ripped the idea to shreds saying that it's ridiculous and makes no sense especially since Bush's term is almost over. Jerry thinks it serves no purpose.

Do I care what Jerry Springer thinks? Not really, especially considering in the previous segment he was outraged that Obama hasn't already buckled and made Hillary VP (because according to Springer it's irrelevant who Obama wants, it's who "the people" want).

At any rate, I only bring this up because it's one thing for a repub on TV to dismiss impeachment completely and totally and quite another for a Dem to do it. That just allows repubs and moderates to say "ah ha, even the Democrats realize how stupid this is".

They are right as far as it goes about being too late to really be plausible, can't argue with that, but it NEEDED to be done. I fully expect it to be poo-pooed by just about everyone, if for no other reason that it makes the people who have gone along look really bad. They have to shun it. Pelosi already waved her magic wand.

But, damn, it feels good.

He should have at least said he agrees with in principle.

When he dismisses the whole thing as ridiculous he's basically dismissing the crimes of the Bush administration as ridiculous, and THAT is really ridiculous.

Its a tactical move...Bush does more good for Democratic electoral chances in office than on the floor of the house being impeached.

Also, impeachment without an egregious cause that rises to the level of Nixionian skulduggery runs  the risk of a tit for tat impeachment attempt for each subsequent President from a different party. The Rethugs already broke ground on that by going after Bill Clinton on less than substantial grounds. So in that regard Pelosi is doing the responsible thing.

Certainly Bush "cooked" the books as it were in regard to WMD and Iraq, but there was an historic basis for the claims and he has the intelligence community as a convenient scapegoat.

In fact, many of the articles refer to Bushes incompetence, not "high crime and misdemeanors. We already know he is an idiot, we don't need Congress to reaffirm the fact.

"we don't need Congress to reaffirm the fact."

I don't see why there couldn't be a congressional resolution recognizing the extraordinary idiocy of the Bush presidency.  You know how they have all of those other pointless resolutions that they love to waste so much time with.

It could begin:  "In order to recognize his extraordinary achievement in expanding the horizons of incompetence to levels unmatched by any who have gone before, this resolution officially recognizes George W. Bush as the Worst President in American History."

I think there should be a medal minted of pure lead and presented to him for the occasion, to be passed on in the unlikely event that there is ever another who surpasses his achievement.  The presenter should be instructed to "hurl" the medal at the person being honored.

He is going to broadcast his convention live on Public Access from his mother's basement; her cats are expected to give him the nomination nearly unanimously, except one holdout who is a sad kitty.

Palin in 2012? Bitch, please! No, really, please run in 2012, bitch. ;)

If not and McSame becomes president (god forbid), then all bush's crimes become normalized. Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats are causing our country enormous harm with their passive attitude.
